Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), a statutory body established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02), serves as the country’s leading provider of housing and related services. Our primary functions include residential construction, land development, and property maintenance, with a renewed commercial mandate following the 2016 amendment to the Act. To support our strategic growth, we are inviting qualified professionals to apply for the following key role.

Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reporting Line: Regional Manager (North)

Core Responsibilities:

Oversee and validate cadastral survey computations. Perform comprehensive land surveys—both cadastral and topographic—within the northern region for MHC and external stakeholders. Address land survey requests and resolve boundary disputes promptly. Develop and manage section-specific budgets and work plans. Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to address encroachment issues on MHC land holdings. Maintain and safeguard survey equipment. Submit regular progress reports on regional survey operations. Delegate tasks and evaluate staff performance.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

Holding a Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying. Mandatory registration with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi or an equivalent recognized professional body. A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in land surveying.

Key Skills & Attributes:

In-depth expertise in survey methodologies and field operations. Strong leadership, organizational, and coordination capabilities. Proficiency in computer applications. Self-motivated with resilience and adaptability for challenging field conditions and extended working hours. Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
