Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), the leading provider of housing and related services in Malawi, was established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02). Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reporting Line: Regional Manager (North) Core Responsibilities: – Oversee computations for cadastral surveys. – Perform comprehensive land surveys (cadastral and topographic) within the region for both MHC and external clients. – Address land survey requests and boundary disputes promptly. – Develop and manage budgets for the survey section. – Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to resolve encroachment issues on MHC land holdings. – Maintain and ensure the proper upkeep of survey equipment. – Prepare and submit timely progress reports on regional survey activities. – Delegate tasks and evaluate team performance. Minimum Qualifications: – A Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying. – Mandatory registration with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi (or an equivalent recognized professional body). Required Experience: – A minimum of two years of professional experience in land surveying. Key Competencies: – In-depth expertise in all types of surveying and operational procedures. – Strong leadership, planning, and coordination abilities. – Proficiency in computer applications. – Self-motivation, resilience, and capacity to work extended hours in challenging conditions. – Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
