Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reporting Line: Regional Manager (North) Core Responsibilities: – Oversee and execute computational tasks for cadastral surveys. – Conduct comprehensive land surveys (both cadastral and topographic) across the northern region for MHC and external clients. – Address Land Survey requests and resolve boundary disputes promptly. – Develop strategic plans and allocate budgets for the survey section. – Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to address encroachment issues on MHC-owned land. – Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of surveying equipment. – Prepare and submit regular progress reports on land survey operations within the region. – Assign tasks and evaluate staff performance. Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements: – A Bachelor of Science degree in Land Surveying. – Mandatory registration with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi or an equivalent professional body. Required Work Experience: – A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in land surveying. Essential Competencies & Skills: – Proficiency in all survey types and operational methodologies. – Strong leadership, planning, and coordination abilities. – Proficiency in computer applications. – Self-driven, resilient, and capable of working extended hours in challenging conditions. – Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
