Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02), serves as the leading provider of housing and related services in Malawi. Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reporting Line: Regional Manager (North) Core Responsibilities: β Oversee and execute computational tasks for cadastral surveys. β Conduct comprehensive land surveys (both cadastral and topographic) across the northern region for MHC and external clients. β Address Land Survey requests and resolve boundary disputes promptly. β Develop strategic plans and allocate budgets for the survey section. β Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to address encroachment issues on MHC-owned land. β Ensure the proper maintenance and upkeep of surveying equipment. β Prepare and submit regular progress reports on land survey operations within the region. β Assign tasks and evaluate staff performance. Minimum Academic & Professional Requirements: β A Bachelor of Science degree in Land Surveying. β Mandatory registration with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi or an equivalent professional body. Required Work Experience: β A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in land surveying. Essential Competencies & Skills: β Proficiency in all survey types and operational methodologies. β Strong leadership, planning, and coordination abilities. β Proficiency in computer applications. β Self-driven, resilient, and capable of working extended hours in challenging conditions. β Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
