Paragraph: Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), the leading provider of housing and related services in Malawi, was established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02). Position: Land Surveyor Location: Regional Office (North), Mzuzu Grade: HC 7 Reporting Line: Regional Manager (North) Core Responsibilities: โ Oversee computations for cadastral surveys. โ Perform comprehensive land surveys, including cadastral and topographic surveys, for MHC and external clients. โ Address land survey requests and resolve boundary disputes promptly. โ Develop and manage budgets for the survey section. โ Collaborate with the Estates Management Section to address encroachments on MHC land reserves. โ Ensure proper maintenance of survey equipment. โ Generate and submit timely progress reports on regional land survey activities. โ Assign tasks and evaluate staff performance. Minimum Qualifications & Professional Requirements: โ Bachelor of Science Degree in Land Surveying. โ Mandatory registration with the Surveyors Institute of Malawi or an equivalent recognized professional body. Professional Experience: โ Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in land surveying. Key Competencies & Skills: โ In-depth expertise in various survey methods and operations. โ Strong leadership, organizational, and coordination abilities. โ Proficiency in computer applications. โ Self-motivation, resilience, and the capacity to work extended hours in challenging conditions. โ Ability to work effectively within a team framework.
