AngloGold Ashanti Limited is recruiting a Mobile Crane Rigger for its Obuasi site in Ghana.
Context of the position AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine, is completing the redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient, and long-term profitable operation. Underground mining is fully mechanized and designed to produce up to 5,000 t/day of ore.
Main responsibilities Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor – Lifting Equipment & Trucks, the Mobile Crane Rigger is responsible for executing rigging and related activities, in compliance with the Code of Safe Practice for the use of mobile cranes. He ensures that lifting operations are carried out safely and in accordance with regulatory requirements (notably LI2182) and the safety, environmental, and operational standards of AngloGold Ashanti Ghana (AGAG).
Responsibilities
- Safety: Work according to total quality management principles, apply HSE rules with zero tolerance, adopt safe behavior consistent with AGAG's vision and values, and accept responsibility for one's own health and safety as well as that of all assigned workers.
- Environment: Comply with the site's environmental management plan, adhere to AGAG's environmental standards, prevent pollution, follow operational procedures, correct or report environmental deviations, and follow incident reporting procedures.
- Personnel: Participate in training, development, and performance improvement sessions.
- Work execution: Perform rigging tasks in accordance with Ghana and AGAG regulations, carry out daily pre-use inspections of rigging equipment, report anomalies, assess required equipment, and provide information for closing work orders in SAP.
- Costs: Minimize waste of resources and work cost-effectively.
- Time: Execute work in a timely manner.
- Risk management: Perform all activities within safety limits, take proactive measures in response to symptoms of potential failure.
- Reporting and authority: Report and escalate issues directly to the supervisor, stop operations if unsafe.
- Maintenance systems: Comply with maintenance management systems and standard operating procedures.
- Plans, procedures, standards, and documentation: Execute tasks according to approved lifting plans, sign work orders, and complete required documentation.
- Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws and regulations, including environmental and scheduled maintenance requirements.
- Meetings, reviews, and communication: Participate in daily safety meetings and other prescribed meetings.
- Performance, control, and improvement: Participate in annual and mid-year performance evaluations, be available for audits.<st
