Keda Ghana Ceramics Company Limited is recruiting a Business Manager based in Takoradi, on a permanent contract.
Context of the position: We are looking for an experienced professional to act as a strategic interface between our new glassware project and all external stakeholders: public administrations, traditional authorities, public service providers, and local communities. The main objective is to secure the legal, social, and operational foundations of the plant, ensuring smooth infrastructure integration and full regulatory compliance.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage land transfer procedures for stool and private lands, liaising with the Lands Commission to ensure the legality of leases and land titles.
- Establish and maintain high-level relationships with the Traditional Council and local chiefs; proactively resolve disputes concerning boundaries, compensation, or construction impact.
- Coordinate local labor needs and manage community expectations to mitigate risks of protests or disruptions during the construction phase.
- Obtain and maintain the social license to operate through ongoing community engagement.
- Lead negotiations and progress monitoring with GRIDCo/ECG for high-voltage grid connection, and with GWCL for industrial water supply.
- Secure gas supply and infrastructure by coordinating with GNPC and Ghana Gas, including overseeing the construction of the gas station and price negotiations.
- Supervise local contractors for site leveling and construction of essential access roads.
- Manage registration with GIPC and apply for quotas to obtain duty exemptions for imported machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate customs clearance of large industrial equipment at Tema or Takoradi ports; resolve disputes with GRA-Customs regarding inspections and duty rates.
- Lead the application process with GFZB to obtain free zone status and corresponding tax benefits, where applicable.
- Obtain and renew all necessary permits, including EPA (environment), GSA (standards), GNFS (fire service), and building permits from the District Assembly.
