The role in Kigali demands oversight of the company’s tax obligations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings across all applicable tax categories while maintaining strict adherence to Rwanda Revenue Authority (ERA) guidelines to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Responsibilities extend to administering the e-invoice system and tax invoice issuance, verifying compliance with ERA mandates, resolving invoice discrepancies, and finalizing monthly financial statements for all entities. Additionally, the position involves coordinating annual tax and financial audits, managing import-related tax matters, withholding tax obligations, transfer pricing documentation, and intercompany transactions. The role requires proactive identification of tax risks, timely responses to audits and inspections, and continuous adaptation of tax strategies in response to evolving Rwandan tax legislation. Training finance teams on foundational tax principles is also a key duty. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in finance or a related discipline, possess roughly a decade of professional experience—with at least five years dedicated to tax-related roles—and demonstrate fluency in English. Proficiency in Rwanda’s tax framework, covering VAT, income tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and customs regulations, is essential, along with expertise in tax filing and e-invoice systems. Prior experience within a tax department of a specialized tax firm or a Big Four accounting firm is advantageous. Strong communication skills are necessary for engaging with tax authorities, external advisors, and internal stakeholders, complemented by analytical acumen, problem-solving capabilities, and an unwavering commitment to ethical standards and tax compliance.

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
