Job Summary To deliver comprehensive second-line oversight for the Personal and Private Banking (PPB) Credit Risk, Model Risk, and Data Risk, ensuring alignment with group, country, and regulatory policies. Job Description Assurance Underwriting, account management, employer management, credit mandate oversight, mobile lending, and collections and recoveries are all encompassed within the monthly assurance framework. This framework ensures compliance with all sections of PPB Credit Standards, policies, and any related areas that may influence PPB Credit operations. Conduct a thorough review of exceptions generated by the PPB Credit Models and incorporate these findings into the monthly Assurance assessments. Monitor the RDAR Embedment tracker to identify and promptly escalate any detected issues for tracking and resolution. Monitor and oversee the entire Data and Records Management Risk framework, identifying and escalating any deviations or issues for immediate action, while ensuring their resolution and tracking until closure. Ensure that all Credit Assurance, Models, and Data Risk folders on the Shared Drive are consistently updated with the most current information available. Specifically, under the Assurance section for Scheme Folders, verify that the most recent Memorandum of Understanding (You) documents are both tracked and formally in place. Additionally, conduct a thorough review of the current audited accounts in collaboration with Corporate Credit, and ensure that sanction screening records, along with the latest signatures and files, are accurately updated. Furthermore, maintain and update the Scheme tracker promptly, and proactively send out reminder notifications to PPB Credit and ABSA Workplace for customers whose documents are approaching expiration or have already expired. Conduct the PPB Credit Risk Assurance sampling process on a monthly basis, maintaining a comprehensive tracker of all identified exceptions. Furthermore, ensure that evidence of closure is secured for each exception recorded. Document monthly assurance findings in the PPB Credit Assurance Deck, ensuring thorough and accurate recording. Perform monthly assurance activities using approved sampling templates and the Control Assessment Tool to facilitate standardized assessments. Maintain an organized folder containing the PPB Lending CPA Test Reports specifically covering Personal and Private Banking, Operations, and PPB Credit CPA Testing. Monitor the progress of PPB Lending CPA ineffective controls actions and verify their closure within the mutually agreed-upon timelines. To ensure proactive oversight of control matters concerning PPB Credit, this role involves keeping the PPB, Operations, and PPB Credit Governance teams informed of pertinent issues. Additionally, it requires the diligent tracking and monitoring of all risk events that could affect PPB Credit. All issues and risk events must be submitted to the in-country PPB Credit/Lending Committees for review and resolution. Maintain the Retail Risk SharePoint by ensuring it contains the most current and precise documentation, forms, and signatures. Prepare documentation for identified testing and control weaknesses, and contribute to assurance reviews conducted across designated PPB, Operations, and PPB Credit Units, whether independently or as part of a team (where applicable), while ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards. To maintain adherence to established credit policies, procedures, and standards, this role involves executing and overseeing a comprehensive work program. This program is designed to highlight key priorities for the Head of Credit Assurance, Models, and Data Risk, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and risk management goals. To support the establishment and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive control framework, while providing recommendations for enhancements in effectiveness and efficiency, with reports directed to the Head of Credit Assurance, Models and Data Risk, as well as the Chief Risk Officer. To facilitate the implementation of corrective measures identified through specific work conducted in PPB, PPB Credit, and Credit Operations, recommendations must be endorsed by business stakeholders. Subsequently, these recommendations must be executed within an agreed-upon timeframe to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement. To develop and sustain comprehensive management information systems for distribution to various internal stakeholders, ensuring accurate reporting on compliance with established procedures and standards. Conduct a thorough examination of all closure packages and reports related to IA, Conformance, and business reviews. Monthly verification of user access is required for CRB users, as well as various Credit System users within PPB Credit, PPB, and Collections & Recoveries. Organize and coordinate optimal practice sessions and collaborative knowledge-sharing events. Conformance of PPB, Operations, and PPB Credit ensures alignment with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards across all relevant departments. This role involves verifying adherence to internal guidelines and external mandates, conducting routine audits, and addressing any discrepancies to maintain operational integrity. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement corrective measures, documenting findings, and reporting compliance status to senior management. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of compliance frameworks, along with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements effectively. Performed Conformance Reviews in accordance with the approved Combined Assurance Plan, compiling reports that include identified findings, which are evaluated and classified according to the Risk and Issue Classification Matrix Standard and Calculator. Conduct comprehensive scope conformance reviews, which encompass the development of detailed scoping documentation. Ensure conformance review processes are executed in a manner that systematically identifies and evaluates pertinent risks and controls. Offer expert direction and support to the team throughout conformance review initiatives. Ensure compliance with established frameworks, policies, and standards by conducting thorough monitoring and reviews. Identify and promptly escalate any breaches or non-compliance issues to ensure timely intervention, while implementing necessary actions to address and resolve them effectively. Monitor, supervise, and evaluate the progress and finalization of PPB Credit, Models, and Data-related Dispensations, Waivers, and Breaches (DWB) actions within the Open Pages system. Facilitate collaborative discussions with relevant teams to review and align on the conclusions presented in the final report. Verify that all discrepancies uncovered during conformance reviews and CPA testing are promptly recorded in Open Pages. Identify vulnerabilities in the control frameworks and deployment processes that could potentially expose the PPB, Operations, and PPB Credit to risk-related challenges. Craft insightful, accurate observations that delve into root causes and deliver tangible business value, while ensuring that conformance review scopes incorporate broader implications. Team Effectively delegate responsibilities, fostering an environment where team members are encouraged to make autonomous decisions aligned with their professional capabilities. Additional assistance is provided to the Head of Credit Assurance, Models, and Data Risk. Offer comprehensive support to the Business Assurance Manager and the broader team by contributing to various ongoing initiatives and ad hoc projects.
