With over 70,000 clients funded to date and a workforce of hundreds, we operate across branches in Uganda and Kenya, providing innovative financial solutions that enable MSMEs to flourish.
About the Role
Sales and Recovery Agents are tasked with achieving sales targets and recovering outstanding debts while maintaining adherence to regulatory guidelines and company policies. They actively engage with customers through various communication channels to negotiate payment plans, resolve outstanding balances, and mitigate financial risks. Additionally, they document all interactions meticulously, ensuring accurate records are kept for auditing and reporting purposes. Proficiency in CRM systems and strong interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
Locations
Tugende Rubaga, Male, Jinja, and Minyan are key urban centers where the designated role will be primarily based. Sales Agents will be based in Rubaga and Male, while Recovery Agents will operate from Jinja and Minyan. The role also requires regular travel between these locations.
Qualifications and Experience
The position demands a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, complemented by at least three years of progressive professional experience. Candidates must exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with proficiency in both written and verbal English and an additional Ugandan language being essential. UACE equivalent and above is also accepted, with previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and industry regulations. The role also requires robust stakeholder engagement and the ability to deliver measurable results under tight deadlines.
As a Sales Agent, you will be instrumental in generating revenue and cultivating enduring client relationships. Your core duties will involve actively promoting and selling our offerings to both prospective and current customers, uncovering valuable sales prospects, and consistently meeting targets to contribute to our organizational expansion. Crucial duties encompass overseeing and executing project deliverables, ensuring adherence to established timelines and quality benchmarks while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Assigning tasks to team members based on their expertise, monitoring progress, and addressing any obstacles that may impede workflow efficiency are integral components of this role. Additionally, the position demands meticulous documentation of project milestones, proactive identification of risks, and the implementation of mitigation strategies to uphold operational continuity. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to align objectives and resolve conflicts remains essential to fostering a productive work environment.
Develop and execute strategic sales initiatives to reliably achieve or surpass sales targets. Collaborate closely with branch leadership, account managers, and other team members to design and implement initiatives that enhance demand for Eugene’s offerings. Establish and nurture strong connections with both prospective and current clients by delivering clear, responsive communication and swiftly addressing their concerns. Foster enduring relationships with clients as well as community leaders to gain deeper insights into their financial objectives, enabling the recommendation of customized solutions. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the company’s product offerings and the associated sales and credit processes, ensuring effective communication to potential customers regarding lease acquisition. Responsibilities include cultivating new business prospects by proactively engaging with potential clients through strategic networking, community involvement, targeted outreach initiatives, and attendance at industry events, while also educating both the community and prospects about Eugene’s value proposition.
Market Research and Reporting
Maintain awareness of market trends, competitor actions, and customer preferences within the designated region, adapting sales strategies as needed. Collaborate with the Marketing team to conduct (or contribute to) market research initiatives, including benchmarks and observations, to enhance Eugene’s sales performance. Maintain precise documentation of sales activities, customer engagements, and projections through CRM software. Generate and present routine sales reports and projections to branch executives and senior management upon request. Coordinate with branch leadership, account managers, and other team members to execute initiatives designed to enhance customer demand for Eugene’s products and services. Collaborate with the marketing team to craft tailored strategies that effectively engage prospective clients within the community. To drive sales growth, collaborate with branch executives to identify and address their specific needs effectively.
Recovery Agent Responsibilities
As a Recovery Agent, your responsibilities will include overseeing a variety of debt recovery cases, with the primary objective of collecting outstanding debts promptly and effectively. You will collaborate closely with clients to establish payment arrangements and address any conflicts, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and internal recovery team protocols. This role plays a pivotal part in sustaining strong customer relationships while advancing Eugene’s financial objectives. Oversee a designated caseload with diligence, prioritizing the prompt and professional recovery of outstanding debts to maintain financial integrity. Prepare and deliver demand notices to clients with overdue outstanding payments. Monitor and record all assigned assets under impoundment, providing real-time updates on their status and location as required. Deliver consistent reports and progress updates regarding the status of recovery cases. Act as a crucial intermediary between internal departments and external entities—including legal teams or headquarters recovery units—to streamline debt recovery processes and ensure prompt escalation of unresolved cases. Maintain precise and up-to-date documentation of all communications while addressing customer complaints or disputes with professionalism and efficiency. Monitor payment schedules to verify compliance and promptly initiate corrective measures for any delinquencies, strictly adhering to established guidelines. Assess clients’ payment histories to identify trends and recommend strategies that expedite recovery efforts, ensuring adherence to established asset recovery protocols.

Demonstrates exceptional discretion and professionalism when addressing confidential or delicate matters. Skilled in leveraging MS Office or compatible software suites proficiently.
