What you’ll do ROLE PURPOSE: The Agra-Finance Specialist will oversee the creation, deployment, and administration of digital lending solutions specifically designed for the agricultural industry. This position requires close collaboration with financial institutions, fintech companies, and key sector stakeholders to develop cutting-edge loan products that expand financial access for farmers, agricultural SMEs, and participants across the value chain. Key accountabilities and decision ownership: Lead comprehensive product rollout and go-to-market initiatives by spearheading the development and execution of rollout plans for pilots and scaled deployments. Mobilize and train field staff and agents to ensure readiness, while designing and implementing incentive structures to drive adoption. Oversee the tracking of key milestones and proactively address and resolve on-ground obstacles to ensure seamless execution. Own the accountability for loan performance through strategic ownership of the portfolio and repayment outcomes. Establish and refine collection processes, implement early-warning triggers, and design restructure rules to optimize recovery. Spearhead field recovery operations while ensuring adherence to Non-Performing Loan (NPL) and Past Due Accounts Receivable (PAR) targets. Responsibilities include overseeing field operations and the onboarding of farmers, ensuring adherence to KYC/KYB compliance protocols, facilitating the enablement of customers, merchants, and agents, and conducting KYC verification processes alongside channel operations management. Build and cultivate strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including input suppliers, agribusinesses, cooperatives, financial institutions, NGOs, and local government entities. Collaborate with these partners to negotiate and formalize Memorandums of Understanding (Mouse) and co-financing agreements, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and mutual benefits. Project governance and monitoring & evaluation entail executing pilot governance in alignment with established milestones and budget oversight, compiling operational dashboards, and generating fortnightly or monthly reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Financial analysis and Credit assessment Must have technical / professional qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required. Possession of a Master’s Degree is considered an additional benefit.
