Demographics POSITION Clerk 1 – Warehouse DEPARTMENT Supply Chain LOCATION Geita Gold Mine Tanzania EMPLOYMENT STATUS Full Time OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE Provide assistance in the seamless receipt, storage, handling, and dispatch of materials throughout the warehouse while ensuring precise inventory records and adherence to established company protocols. Oversee daily warehouse operations while ensuring company assets remain protected through precise documentation and diligent discrepancy resolution. Maintain rigorous adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all processes. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Responsibilities include receiving, meticulously inspecting, and validating incoming materials in strict accordance with supporting documentation.
Conduct stock counts and inventory verification tasks with precision. Accurately record and process all warehouse transactions within the ERP system to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency. Ensure meticulous organization and preservation of all warehouse transaction records and documentation. Report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages to supervisors immediately for resolution. Employees must adhere strictly to all health, safety, environmental, and security protocols and regulations in accordance with established organizational standards. Deliver prompt assistance to internal customers in gathering necessary materials efficiently. Ensure all requested materials are prepared and readily accessible. Promptly report all Environmental, Health, and Safety incidents and accidents in accordance with established protocols and timelines. Issue materials strictly in accordance with approved requisitions and reservations, following established procedures. Store materials in designated locations according to established storage standards, ensuring proper organization and adherence to guidelines. Issue purchased materials directly to end users in strict accordance with the specified quantities and details outlined on transaction records, following all GGM issuing protocols and procedures. Transfer all received items from the receiving warehouse to satellite warehouses in accordance with Non-established procedures. Responsible for unloading and loading vehicles to facilitate the receipt and distribution of goods to satellite warehouses and end users. Verify incoming stock from the receiving warehouse by cross-referencing it with the Goods Received Note (GRN) to ensure accurate quantities and assess item condition.
Monitor inventory levels closely to detect impending stock-outs and promptly escalate any concerns to the supervisor. Regularly verify the precision of items and, as needed, revise bin locations to maintain optimal organization. Initiate non-conformances and promptly report them to Material Engineers for further review and resolution. Maintain a systematic, sequential filing system for all transaction records and reports. Ensure assigned warehouse spaces remain consistently clean and well-organized at all times. Facilitate the implementation of safe material handling and storage protocols to ensure a secure and compliant work environment. Conduct thorough daily pre-use inspections of machinery to detect any safety hazards and verify mechanical integrity. Operate forklifts in a safe and efficient manner to facilitate the loading, unloading, and transportation of palletized materials between designated staging areas and delivery vehicles. Execute all additional duties pertaining to the receipt, storage, distribution, and inventory management of materials as directed by the supervisor. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualification A minimum qualification of a Certificate or Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Materials Management, or a related field is required. Registered with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB). Experience A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in warehouse receiving, storage, and issuance operations is required. Candidates should possess hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with a preferred background in SAP.
