Director of Construction Work — Yaoundé (Milems Group)

[ABOUT THE COMPANY]

The MILEMS Group SARL is a multidisciplinary Cameroonian company active in construction, land development, building, service provision, general trade and agro-industries. To support the development of its construction activities, the group recruits a work driver.

[KEY INFORMATION]

• Location Yaoundé, with possible travel to other cities in Cameroon.
• Contract: CDD or CDI depending on the profile.
• Posting: as soon as possible.

[YOUR MISSION]

Attached to the General Management, you are responsible for the technical execution of the constructions, the respect of deadlines, quality and safety, from the installation of the site until the reception of the works:

• Lead the execution of work in accordance with the CCTP, plans and delivery program.
• Supervise site managers, team leaders, HSE managers, storekeepers and pointers.
• Organize procurements with meterers-buyers.
• Guaranteeing quality: breakpoints, control of reinforcements and concrete, testing, weekly site meeting.
• Track costs and progress: metering, work situations, reports to management, digital monitoring of the site.
• Enforce safety: PPE, security of excavations and scaffolding.
• Prepare for reception: withdrawal of reservations, recovery plans, instructions and test files.

[YOUR PROFILE]

• Training: construction engineer or civil engineering or building engineer; with an equivalent degree, the number of years of experience will be decisive.
• Experience: at least 8 years in the building, including at least 3 years as a driver of housing work or small buildings made of reinforced concrete and masonry. A reference of villas or accommodation delivered is required.
• Technical skills: reading plans and CCTP, metering, planning (Gantt), control of concrete, reinforcements and coatings, plumbing, electricity, finishes.
• Management: management of teams and subcontractors, reports, reserve letters, cost monitoring.
• Tools: spreadsheet, scheduling software, digital tools; AppSheet, KoboToolbox or Odoo are an asset.
• Qualities: rigor, calm authority, sense of the field, honesty, good communication.
• Availability: daily presence on site; driving license appreciated.
