Location
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association that, for more than 40 years, has been helping people affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs: drinking, eating and sheltering. Particularly engaged in the fight against diseases related to unsafe water, the leading cause of mortality in the world, SI implements through its interventions expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and promotion of hygiene but also in the essential one, food security and livelihood. Present in 26 countries, the SI teams – 3,200 people in total composed of expatriates, national employees, permanent staff at headquarters, some volunteers... – They work with professionalism and commitment to respect for cultures. The International Solidarity Mission is present in Democratic Republic of the Congo since 2001 to meet the humanitarian needs of populations affected by conflicts and natural disasters, while contributing to the fight against epidemics. The mission is mainly active in the areas of food security and livelihoods (SAME), water, hygiene and sanitation (EHA), and assistance in multi-sector cash transfers (direct cash or via coupons). All our interventions integrate a protection dimension, either transversally or through specific actions implemented with partners. Our programs cover both the emergency response — in particular through rapid response mechanisms (SAFER) and so-called "second line" interventions — and recovery and development activities in stabilized areas. This approach reflects the mission’s strategy, which aims to maintain a strong emergency response capacity while developing sustainable solutions to structural issues affecting populations in the east of the country. The mission is currently composed of a coordination and several operational bases and sub-bases in North Kivu (Goma, Kitchanga, Beni), in Ituri (Bunia, Ndrelé, Drodro, Fataki), and South Kivu (Uvira, Baraka).

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
