Discipline: Engineering, Process, Smelter Process, Smelter Engineering, Mining Operations , TSF Operations, S3 Operations, Site Services, Environmental, Mine Technical Services, Human Resource, Commercial Grade: 14 Section: Rotation Based Direct reports: None Position reports to : Rotation Based Purpose The Graduate Participant will undergo a structured development program aimed at equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge, and experience to excel in their chosen field. This role provides hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to various aspects of the business operations at FQM ‘Kansanshi Mining Plc (KMP) Key Responsibilities Participate in structured on-the-job training programs across different departments as per development plan Support departmental projects, operations, and daily activities Conduct research, data analysis, and reporting to aid decision-making Collaborate with senior staff and cross-functional teams to optimize operational efficiency Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company policies in all assigned tasks Engage in continuous learning and skill development through mentorship and training sessions Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to improve business processes Qualifications Must hold a bachelor’s degree in any of the following relevant fields; Mining Engineering Metallurgy Chemical Engineering Civil Engineering Control Systems Engineering Electrical Engineering Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering Mechanical Engineering Human Resource or related field Supply Chain Management or related field Environmental and Natural Resource Management Experience No prior experience required, but any internship or practical experience in mining operations will be advantageous. Ability to multi-task & work well under pressure and in a team environment Good verbal and written communications skills Computer literate in Microsoft office suit and Artificial Intelligence Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, and reporting. Ability to tackle practical, production-oriented problems through mini-projects. Operational Requirements Understanding of mining legislation, Standard Operating Procedure, and operational procedures. Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols and risk assessment methodologies. Ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross-cultural environment, fostering inclusive and respectful collaboration. Ability to work effectively in remote locations and diverse weather conditions, with physical agility to access various areas of mining operations as needed. Ability to work at a remote mining site in Zambia, requiring resilience and adaptability to operational challenges. Must be comfortable to travel across the First Quantum Minerals (FQM) sites, both local and international, as and when there’s a business requirement
