Job Purpose The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for managing daily operations to ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations, policies, and procedures while supporting the implementation of an effective HSE management system through technical guidance. They will assist the organization in developing and refining HSE regulations, strategic plans, programs, and policies, ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching objectives.

A Ugandan male candidate, preferably between 24 and 28 years of age, is sought for this position. Duties include establishing, overseeing, and executing comprehensive HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and objectives. Ensures full compliance with HSE regulations by all staff and visitors, enforces the use of required safety equipment, promotes safe working practices, and either addresses visible hazards immediately or escalates them to management for prompt resolution. The position involves establishing and enforcing comprehensive emergency preparedness protocols to safeguard the factory environment, ensuring all risk mitigation strategies are fully executed and maintained. Assist the Quality Assurance team by evaluating training requirements and guaranteeing that all personnel receive proper instruction in Occupational Health and Safety measures. Ensure all waste generated from our operations is managed properly both inside and outside the factory, strictly adhering to local and national regulatory standards. Ensure full adherence to all Environmental Health, Safety, and Local Government Regulations across the factory operations at all times. Provide assistance to the department in conducting environmental audits, encompassing both internal and external assessments, and facilitate the execution of corrective measures as required. As part of your responsibilities, you will support the coordination of emergency response efforts and provide initial medical assistance when required. Conduct thorough examinations to identify and address any instances of non-compliance with HSE standards.
• Collaborate with the Human Resources Manager to develop and deliver comprehensive HSE training programs tailored for all company employees.
• Mitigate potential health and environmental impacts by addressing nuisances including dust, odor, noise, and vibration to maintain minimal disruptions. Implement and maintain pollution control measures while safeguarding employees from potential workplace hazards through the establishment and enforcement of a secure working environment.
• Perform daily monitoring and maintenance to ensure the Effluent Treatment Plant operates efficiently at all times. To foster effective execution of HSE programs, collaborate closely with managers, staff, community representatives, local municipal council members, and pertinent regulatory agencies, cultivating strong, proactive relationships throughout the process. A recognized institution must confer a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science, Environmental Management, or a closely related field. A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting is required. A bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
