Job Summary To provide expert guidance to customers and execute banking transactions promptly and accurately, ensuring adherence to established standard operating procedures (SOPs). Job Description Business Management (50%) Establish and align income objectives tailored to specific products and the broader retail banking division. Formulate and implement the local product pricing strategy, ensuring all necessary approvals are secured before disseminating the details. Complete product research, development and implementation. To generate monthly tariff reports, identify discrepancies and revenue leakages for thorough analysis. Liaise daily with essential bank stakeholders, including Operations, Retail Credits, and Marketing, to foster a comprehensive grasp of product processing requirements and facilitate seamless sales activities for retail products. Drives growth in the product balance sheet in alignment with the Strategic Target Plan (STP) growth objectives. We develop and execute strategic product campaigns and sales activations designed to empower and enhance sales channel performance. We are seeking a Product Manager specializing in MTP growth planning and margin forecasting to drive product profitability and strategic expansion. This role will focus on developing and executing detailed growth plans for our product portfolio while accurately forecasting margins to ensure financial performance. Monthly evaluations of product income are conducted to ensure alignment with the balance sheet and profit & loss statements. Develop and Execute right Product pricing strategies. Competitor product review and market intelligence Through strategic upgrades and refinements, we aim to enhance our product by elevating its features and benefits to better meet customer needs and market demands. Develop cutting-edge, industry-leading solutions focused on retail liabilities, marketing initiatives, and communication strategies. Deliver formal product training sessions as needed to ensure participants gain comprehensive understanding and proficiency. Through diverse channels such as social media outreach, traditional advertising campaigns, and targeted grassroots initiatives, the role focuses on enhancing customer product awareness. Product Development & Implementations (30%) Developing comprehensive business cases and obtaining necessary approvals for innovative liability products are essential responsibilities. Collaborate with the project team to ensure every new product undergoes thorough System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) prior to implementation, followed by comprehensive post-implementation reviews. The Head of Retail Products will receive dedicated support in the execution of newly introduced liability products. Responsibilities include implementing necessary enhancements to liability products to ensure ongoing compliance and performance. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive sales growth for liability product offerings. Oversee all operations necessary to ensure adherence to the Product Risk Governance forum process specifically for liability products. Play a key role in advancing ongoing enhancement initiatives or projects related to liability products. Technical Support, Stakeholders Engagements & Trainings (10%) Deliver comprehensive insights to retail businesses regarding the product initiatives of nearby competitors. Collaborate closely with the Head of Product and HR team to develop and implement tailored training initiatives, while also contributing valuable insights to sales strategy formulation. Resolving complaints entails addressing liability-related issues submitted via the customer service unit’s designated channel. Collaborate closely with the Head of Product and the Technology team to resolve all system-related issues pertaining to retail liability products. To ensure the appropriate display of retail liability products, including pricing (Tariff guides), on their channels and websites, collaboration with the Head of Product and the MCA team is essential. Monitor compliance with established sales procedures by performing periodic walk-through evaluations and verifying adherence to documentation standards. Conduct a thorough analysis to identify product training requirements and address any skill deficiencies, then promptly communicate these findings to the local Learning and Development team to facilitate effective product adoption and enhance sales capabilities. Risk and Control Objective (10%) Immediately report any identified risk event upon awareness. Comprehensive knowledge of your position within the full scope of end-to-end operational workflows, including the identification of relevant risks and the application of corresponding controls, is essential. Consistently follow ABSA’s established policies and procedures relevant to your position, while exercising strong judgment and maintaining responsible risk management practices. Stay current with all regulatory updates and clearly communicate their implications to the business. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry perspectives concerning consumer behaviors.
