ASSISTANT OFFICER – INSURANCE UNIT POSITION (01) – LUSAKA JOB SUMMARY The position entails ensuring the precise, punctual, and regulation-compliant execution of Credit Life and Funeral Insurance processes within the Recoveries Department. Responsibilities include handling insurance claims and refunds, validating supporting documentation, addressing stakeholder inquiries, maintaining meticulous records, generating reports, and upholding adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Diligently gather all necessary insurance documentation promptly and accurately.

• Responsible for drafting, preparing, and sending correspondence to employers regarding potential insurance claim events, as well as following up to obtain feedback.
• Enhance relationships with stakeholders
• Ensure accurate and prompt processing of Funeral Insurance Policies, including thorough documentation and diligent follow-up on any required corrective actions.
• Efficiently manage and process insurance claims, specifically for Credit Life and Funeral policies, in a timely manner.
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date support documentation for all claims submitted and associated insurance files.
• Accurate calculation and preparation of insurance refunds, followed by prompt communication of refund details to eligible clients.
• Addressing insurance-related inquiries from branches and other departments or units, ensuring prompt escalation and resolution of issues.
• Promptly elevate internal inquiries to the appropriate channels and ensure their resolution through diligent follow-up. Before processing any claims, meticulously verify that every claimable incident under Credit Life insurance is tagged with the appropriate insurance codes both prior to and following the claim submission.
• Compile and present weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports as required.
• Analyze call center reports to distinguish between claimable and non-claimable events.

Responsabilités

• Execute any additional duties as lawfully assigned by management. MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
• Holds a Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent qualification
• A degree in Insurance or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or another relevant business-related discipline is required.
• A National Certificate in Insurance (NCI) is required for individuals without an insurance-related degree.

Expérience

• A minimum of three years of professional experience in Insurance Administration or the Financial Services industry is required.

Affiliate membership with the Insurance Institute of Zambia (IBIZA) would be considered a valuable asset.
