We are seeking an ESG & Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist The ESG & Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist plays a pivotal role in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles with robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to track progress toward ESG goals, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards. Key duties include designing and executing MEL systems, conducting data analysis to assess impact, and generating insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in data management tools, and a deep understanding of ESG frameworks and indicators. Additionally, the specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance transparency, accountability, and learning within the organization. Based in Kitwe, this full-time position integrates the development and implementation of corporate sustainability (ESG) initiatives with the oversight of project performance and monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities to drive data-informed growth. Key Responsibilities ESG Management: Develop and oversee comprehensive ESG frameworks while ensuring adherence to both local and international regulations. Additionally, spearhead risk assessments and produce detailed reporting maintaining transparency and accountability. MEL Frameworks: Design data collection instruments, monitor key performance metrics, supervise quality assurance processes, and convert data into strategic insights. Learning & Reporting: Foster a commitment to continuous learning within teams and produce detailed impact reports for stakeholders. Key Requirements Education: Diploma A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related discipline is required. Experience: Experienced professionals with a proven track record of 1 to 4 years in overseeing ESG frameworks or MEL systems, preferably within the NGO or corporate sustainability sectors, are encouraged to apply. Skills: Proficient in utilizing data analysis tools, including Excel, SPSS, and KoboToolbox/OK, and possesses a solid understanding of the Zambian environmental regulatory framework.
