We are seeking an ESG & Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist This role focuses on integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks to drive sustainable impact and performance improvement. The position requires expertise in developing and implementing ESG strategies, assessing their effectiveness, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and global standards. Responsibilities include designing robust MEL systems, conducting data-driven evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous learning to enhance decision-making and accountability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ESG frameworks, measurement methodologies, and impact assessment, along with proficiency in data analysis tools and stakeholder engagement. Based in Kitwe, this full-time position integrates the development and execution of corporate sustainability (ESG) initiatives with the oversight of project performance and impact monitoring (MEL), fostering measurable, data-driven growth. Key Responsibilities ESG Management: Develop and oversee robust ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) frameworks, ensuring adherence to both local and international regulatory standards. Additionally, lead comprehensive risk assessments and prepare detailed reporting maintaining transparency and accountability. MEL Frameworks: Our responsibilities include developing data collection instruments, monitoring key performance metrics, ensuring rigorous quality assurance processes, and converting data into strategic, actionable insights. Learning & Reporting: Promote a learning-centric culture throughout all teams while generating detailed impact reports to keep stakeholders fully informed. Key Requirements Education: Diploma A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Statistics, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline is required. Experience: A minimum of one to four years of experience in managing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and/or Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) systems is required, with a preference for candidates with a background in the NGO or corporate sustainability sectors. Skills: Skilled in utilizing data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, and KoboToolbox/OK, and possesses a strong understanding of the Zambian environmental regulatory framework.
