Identify, document, and escalate any installation deficiencies, non-conformances, deviations, or quality-related concerns as they are identified. Prior to accepting any work, confirm that all corrective actions have been fully implemented and validated. Ensure the proper installation of cables, terminations, glands, earthing systems, containment systems, instruments, control panels, substations, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and all related equipment. Professional Rewrite: Examine trenching operations, cable routing configurations, cable pulling procedures, cable support structures, and adherence to cable segregation standards. Confirm proper installation of instruments, ensuring correct mounting, impulse tubing, cable terminations, junction box connections, and adherence to field instrumentation standards. Oversee the execution of construction tasks related to high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems. Ensure adherence to established Inspection and Test Plans (Its), Quality Control Plans (QCPs), and all relevant construction specifications. Engage in onsite assessments, including construction walkthroughs, punch list evaluations, pre-commissioning inspections, and readiness assessments for commissioning activities. Identify potential latent defects and commissioning risks prior to system energization. Examine contractor quality records to ensure all required inspection documentation has been properly completed and filed. Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), Site Acceptance Tests (SATs), and commissioning activities as necessary. Maintain precise documentation of site inspections and generate periodic quality and progress reports. Facilitate the transition of projects by verifying that all turnover documentation is thorough and meets required quality standards. Foster a robust quality-centric culture throughout every project execution team. For consideration for this position, applicants must fulfill the following prerequisites: Grade 12 School Certificate. Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a comparable discipline is required; possession of a Degree will be advantageous. With a minimum of 10 years of experience in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) construction, the ideal candidate will have worked extensively on mining, industrial, processing, power generation, or large infrastructure projects. Professional experience in capital projects within the mining sector, encompassing both Greenfield and brownfield initiatives, is a prerequisite. EIZ membership Proficiency in high-voltage (HV), medium-voltage (MV), and low-voltage (LV) systems is required, with expertise spanning substations, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), and instrumentation. Experienced professionals with hands-on expertise in ABB and Siemens Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear systems, as well as MV/Low Voltage (LV) Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), for tasks involving installation, configuration, and commissioning. Proficiency in Siemens PCS 7 Distributed Control System (DCS) hardware, input/(I/O) configurations, signal marshalling, and network infrastructure—including industrial Ethernet and fiber optic technologies—is required. Proficient in analyzing and understanding PIDs, single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, cable schedules, termination drawings, and technical specifications. Proficient in quality assurance systems, inspection protocols, punch listing procedures, non-conformance management, adherence to electrical safety standards, and permit-to-work systems. Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite applications effectively.
