Job Purpose The Assistant Marketing Manager supports the Head of Marketing in planning, coordinating and executing Alko Vintages’ marketing strategy across Tanzania. Based in Dodoma, the role has nationwide responsibility and works under the direction and guidance of the Head of Marketing. The position ensures consistent implementation of approved plans, effective coordination with sales and regional teams, and continuity of marketing operations. When the Head of Marketing is unavailable, the Assistant Marketing Manager represents the department within expressly delegated authority. Key Responsibilities A. National Marketing Planning & Execution – Support the Head of Marketing in developing annual, quarterly and monthly marketing plans, budgets and activity calendars. – Coordinate execution of approved marketing campaigns, product launches and promotions across regions in Tanzania. – Track project timelines, deliverables and results; follow up with responsible teams to resolve implementation gaps. B. Brand Management & Trade Marketing – Maintain consistent brand presentation, messaging and visibility across hotels, bars, restaurants, supermarkets, wholesalers and other channels. – Work with sales teams and distributors to identify gaps in product visibility, market penetration and activation support. – Coordinate production, deployment and proper use of branded materials, point-of-sale displays and promotional equipment. – Support improvements in portfolio awareness, product trials, customer engagement and outlet-level execution. C. Activations, Events & Partnerships – Organize and supervise approved activations, tastings, exhibitions, sponsorships and field promotions nationwide. – Coordinate agencies, promoters, brand ambassadors, suppliers and other external partners. – Evaluate execution quality, budget use and outcomes and submit post-activity reports. D. Market Intelligence & Reporting – Conduct market visits and gather insights on consumers, competitor brands, prices, promotions and emerging opportunities. – Consolidate regional marketing updates, performance reports and recommendations for the Head of Marketing. – Maintain accurate records of campaigns, marketing assets, expenses, supplier deliverables and key performance indicators. E. Team Coordination & Administration – Coordinate assigned regional marketing personnel, field representatives and activation teams in line with approved work plans. – Collaborate with sales, production, finance and management to support marketing execution. – Monitor approved expenditure and ensure documentation, compliance and proper use of company resources.
