We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Breast Imaging Officer to lead clinical interventions, training, and mentorship in diagnostic breast ultrasound across 16 district hospitals in Rwanda as part of the MARIA Project. Reporting to the Director of Research and Training and collaborating closely with PIN/IMB and Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) partners, this role will focus on strengthening breast cancer care by decentralizing ultrasound services to rural, underserved areas where access to radiologists and diagnostic imaging remains limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering breast ultrasound training programs, providing real-time and asynchronous virtual supervision via tell-ultrasound technology, and evaluating the effectiveness of these training modalities in enhancing clinicians’ skills and clinical care integration. Additionally, the officer will participate in research activities, expert consultations, and policy discussions to interpret findings, disseminate results, and translate evidence into improved practice and health system strengthening. Clinical expertise in breast imaging—particularly diagnostic breast ultrasound—is essential, along with the ability to mentor, teach, and manage teams in resource-constrained settings. Candidates must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Services, with a Master’s degree preferred, and possess 3–5 years of experience in imaging services within reputable health or radiology institutions. Prior involvement in cancer control or breast cancer early detection programs is highly desirable, as is hands-on experience with breast imaging equipment, including diagnostic ultrasound, mammography, CT scans, and MRI machines. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are required, along with a deep commitment to equity, compassion, and service in under-resourced communities. Fluency in PIN/IMB’s core values—such as integrity, mutual respect, and solidarity—is also expected.

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
