Job Description VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: PSYCHOSOCIAL COUNSELLOR Luciana Mining Company is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated professional to fill the position with Psychosocial Counselor within our dynamic LPDC Team. Exhibiting a Results-Driven approach Delivering solutions that are Fit for Purpose Dedicating themselves to Building a Sustainable Legacy Taking Responsibility and being Accountable Committing to Zero Harm Cultivating strong and meaningful Partnerships Reporting directly to the Senior Welfare Psychologist, your primary duties will involve delivering specialized psychological support services to assigned individuals or groups. You will conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate psychological needs and develop tailored intervention plans in collaboration with the senior psychologist. Additionally, you will facilitate therapeutic sessions, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records of client interactions. This role requires strong analytical skills, empathy, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries while adhering to ethical guidelines. Our services encompass professional psychosocial counseling, mental health promotion, crisis intervention, and employee and community wellness initiatives, all designed to bolster psychological, emotional, social, and occupational wellbeing among employees, contractors, their dependents, and members of the Luciana Mine community. Your responsibilities will encompass, though not be limited to, the following areas: : Deliver discreet one-on-one, family, marital, and group counselling sessions to employees, contractors, and community members. Perform comprehensive psychosocial evaluations and design tailored intervention strategies to address client needs effectively. Provide leadership and guidance to support groups focused on stress management, grief counseling, trauma recovery, addiction rehabilitation, and family wellness. Design and implement workplace and community mental health awareness initiatives to foster understanding and support. Promote education on stress management, resilience, emotional wellbeing, suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention, fatigue management, and healthy lifestyle practices. Offer Psychological First Aid (PFA) in response to traumatic events occurring in workplace or community settings. Provide support through Critical Incident Stress Management (CASM) interventions following accidents, fatalities, disasters, acts of violence, or other traumatic incidents. Provide assistance to impacted employees, their families, and community members during crisis situations. Handle psychosocial referrals originating from Human Resources, the Medical department, Safety teams, supervisors, and external community stakeholders. Create personalized case management strategies and track client advancements. Direct specialized service referrals to suitable internal teams or external partners as needed. Develop and execute community psychosocial initiatives specifically designed for youth, families, women, vulnerable populations, and community leaders. Develop and implement community education initiatives alongside psychosocial support programs to foster resilience. Evaluate program effectiveness by tracking agreed performance indicators to assess outcomes. Compile comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual reports detailing the delivery and impact of psychosocial services and wellness programs. To qualify for this role, you must satisfy the following prerequisites: A high school diploma equivalent to Grade Twelve, or a secondary school-leaving certificate, is required for this position. Diploma in a field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counselling Psychology is required. A degree in a relevant field is considered beneficial. Experienced candidates must possess a minimum of two years of professional practice as a Psychosocial Counselor. Registered with the Counselling Association of Zambia (CAN) or the Zambia Counselling Council (ZCC).
