Job description: Job title: Finance Business Partner Site: Kansanshi Mining Plc, Solwezi. Department: Finance Section: Finance Business Partnering Position reports to : Superintendent Accounting Purpose The role will involve overseeing the capital expenditure request process, developing the annual capital budget, and managing rolling forecasts. Additionally, the position will track actual project expenditures against established plans. Collaboration with management will be essential to assess business risks and opportunities affecting the project pipeline. Key Responsibilities You must comply with all applicable health, safety, environment, and quality policies, procedures, and legal regulations, as well as finance, human resources, and any other company-specific or role-relevant regulations. Assist the organization in developing Aces by thoroughly justifying business cases for capital expenditure proposals, with a focus on evaluating their financial impacts, such as Net Realizable Value (NRV) and payback periods. Review and promptly approve projects in Pronto for AFCE, ensuring all submissions are processed efficiently and accurately. Support project owners in effectively managing and controlling capital expenditures by analyzing costs and identifying potential savings opportunities. Assist in the development of the annual capital budget as well as ongoing rolling forecasts. Analyze and take ownership of opportunities designed to enhance the efficiency and simplicity of capital reporting processes. Support stakeholders by analyzing project performance, monitoring budget adherence, and preparing variance reports to provide clear insights into financial and operational progress. Facilitate the preparation and submission of quarterly capital expenditure (Capex) reports as mandated for Group-level presentations. Undertake ad-hoc projects and other duties as directed by the Finance Manager and Superintendent of Accounting. Facilitate the realization of the Finance team’s overarching objectives through your contributions. Foster and sustain productive professional relationships with department heads and their essential personnel at the facility. To contribute meaningfully to value creation, you are expected to develop a strong grasp of business operations. Review cost-saving initiatives and present findings to management for consideration. To ensure effective decision-making, generate ad hoc reports for Management and other Key Management Personnel (KMP) stakeholders, providing essential insights to evaluate KMP performance. Qualifications Academic qualifications and results must undergo verification through the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZARA). A recognized qualification in Accounting & Business Studies, such as a Diploma or Degree, along with professional certifications like CIA, ARCA, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Zambian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CA Zambia), is required. Experience Five (5) years or more of hands-on experience in Mining Finance and Accounting is required. Proficiency in computer applications is essential, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel and expertise in major ERP systems such as Pronto. Familiarity with Power BI software will be considered an additional advantage. Numerical skills Proficiency in written communication is a critical requirement for preparing comprehensive reports. Communicating effectively with both management and staff requires strong verbal communication skills to convey information clearly and concisely.
