Department: Finance Section: Finance Business Partnering Position reports to : Superintendent Accounting Purpose This role will involve overseeing the capital expenditure request process, compiling the annual capital budget and rolling forecasts, and monitoring actual project expenditures against planned allocations. Collaboration with management team members will be essential to assess business risks and opportunities affecting the project pipeline. Key Responsibilities You must comply with all applicable health, safety, environment, and quality regulations, as well as financial, human resources, and other company-mandated policies and procedures, in accordance with the role’s responsibilities and regulatory obligations. Facilitate the business in compiling Aces by thoroughly justifying capital expenditure requests, with a clear explanation of the financial implications—such as Net Realizable Value (NRV) and payback periods—associated with each proposal. Review and promptly approve Aces, and establish new projects within Pronto. Collaborate with project owners to oversee and regulate capital expenditures by analyzing costs and identifying potential savings opportunities. Assist in compiling the annual capital budget and ongoing rolling forecasts. Identify and take ownership of opportunities to enhance the efficiency and simplicity of capital reporting processes. Provide support in evaluating project performance, monitoring budgets, and generating variance reports for dissemination to relevant stakeholder groups. Facilitate the preparation and submission of quarterly Capital Expenditure (Capex) reports for review by the Group. Facilitate the accomplishment of the Finance team’s overarching objectives by actively collaborating and aligning individual contributions with collective targets. Cultivate and sustain productive professional relationships with department heads and their essential on-site staff members. Demonstrates a thorough comprehension of business operations to drive impactful contributions toward value creation. Review cost-saving initiatives and present findings to management for evaluation. Prepare ad hoc reports for Management and other key management personnel (KMP) stakeholders to facilitate their evaluation of KMP performance. Qualifications Academic credentials and performance records must be officially authenticated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZARA). A recognized qualification in Accounting and Business Studies, such as a Diploma or Degree, along with professional certifications including CIA, ARCA, or an equivalent qualification recognized in Zambia, such as CA Zambia. Experience Five years or more of direct experience in Mining Finance and Accounting is required. Required is a strong command of computer applications, specifically Microsoft Excel and either Pronto or another leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Familiarity with Power BI software will be considered a significant advantage.
