About the Role As the Director of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role on the Lodge Leadership Team, overseeing the preservation and enhancement of one of Four Seasons’ most distinctive assets. You will deliver strategic direction for all engineering functions, guaranteeing that every guest room, public area, back-of-house facility, and employee accommodation consistently upholds Four Seasons’ globally renowned standards. Reporting directly to the Lodge Manager, you will oversee and mentor an engineering team while advancing operational excellence, sustainability efforts, preventive maintenance, asset preservation, and major capital projects. Through your leadership, innovation, reliability, and safety will be prioritized across all operations. What You Will Do Provide visionary leadership to oversee all Engineering and Facilities operations throughout the Lodge. – Drive the Engineering team’s performance by fostering accountability, prioritizing safety, and cultivating a culture of continuous enhancement, while providing leadership, mentorship, and motivation. Craft and implement a top-tier preventive maintenance program aimed at extending asset longevity and enhancing operational dependability. Responsibilities include managing all building systems, encompassing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, water treatment, fire and life safety, as well as power generation and infrastructure. Direct oversight of capital expenditure initiatives is required, encompassing end-to-end management from initial planning through to final execution, with an unwavering commitment to achieving project delivery in a manner that prioritizes safety, strict adherence to timelines, and strict budgetary compliance. – Spearhead sustainability efforts aimed at optimizing energy efficiency, managing water and solar resources, minimizing waste, and promoting environmental responsibility. Oversee departmental budgets, financial planning, and cost optimization initiatives, ensuring alignment with Four Seasons’ stringent quality standards. Ensure adherence to all applicable local regulations, environmental mandates, health and safety protocols, as well as Four Seasons Engineering standards. Collaborate effectively with Rooms, Food & Beverage, Security, Finance, and other teams to ensure smooth operations and outstanding guest experiences. Cultivate robust professional connections with contractors, consultants, government officials, and essential stakeholders to facilitate seamless collaboration and project success. Champion innovation by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, elevate guest comfort, and optimize asset performance. Develop and maintain engineering systems that enhance guest satisfaction while fostering an exceptional employee experience. What You Bring A minimum of five years of senior engineering leadership experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or large-scale hospitality operations is required. A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification is required. – Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. Demonstrates extensive proficiency in project management and capital planning, with a proven ability to oversee complex initiatives and allocate resources effectively. Demonstrates a strong proficiency in financial management, with a keen ability to develop and oversee budgets as well as implement effective cost control measures. Possesses a proven understanding of engineering compliance standards, life safety system protocols, and environmental regulatory requirements. Exceptional leadership ability, strong communication skills, and proven expertise in stakeholder management are essential. On-site family accommodations are not available, and employees must cover any park entry fees, personal accommodation, or travel expenses for visits.
