ESG and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist

We are seeking an ESG & Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist Key Responsibilities: – Lead the development and implementation of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements. – Design, oversee, and evaluate Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks to measure program effectiveness, impact, and sustainability. – Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG principles into project planning, execution, and reporting. – Collect, analyze, and interpret data to generate actionable insights for decision-making and continuous improvement. – Ensure compliance with ESG standards and reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SAS, CFD). – Facilitate capacity-building initiatives to enhance ESG and MEL competencies across the organization. – Prepare and present comprehensive ESG and MEL reports for stakeholders, including senior leadership and external partners. Qualifications & Requirements: – Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred. – Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in ESG, sustainability, or MEL, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. – Proficiency in ESG frameworks (e.g., GRI, SAS, TCFD) and MEL methodologies (e.g., Theory of Change, Logical Framework). – Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and statistical analysis. – Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences. – Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices. Based in Kitwe, this full-time position integrates the development of corporate sustainability (ESG) initiatives with project management and impact assessment (MEL) to facilitate data-informed expansion. Key Responsibilities ESG Management: Develop and oversee ESG frameworks, maintaining adherence to both local and international regulations, while spearheading risk assessments and comprehensive reporting initiatives. MEL Frameworks: Design data collection instruments, monitor key performance metrics, ensure quality control, and convert data into strategic insights for decision-making. Learning & Reporting: Foster a learning-centric environment throughout all teams and produce detailed impact reports for key stakeholders. Key Requirements Education: Diploma A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Statistics, Development Studies, or a related discipline is required. Experience: Experienced professionals with 1 to 4 years of expertise in managing ESG frameworks and/or MEL systems are sought, with a preference for candidates from NGO or corporate sustainability backgrounds. Skills: Skilled in utilizing data analysis tools such as Excel, SPSS, KoboToolbox, and OK, with a strong understanding of the Zambian environmental regulatory framework.
