Position overview

The Solar Commissioning Technician is tasked with overseeing the technical commissioning of new Jaza service locations as designated by the Expansion pipeline. The technician will participate in the commissioning of new sites, verifying that all required quality standards are satisfied and that the necessary technical equipment is in place to meet the established commissioning objectives. This position plays a pivotal role in guaranteeing the technical preparedness of Jaza sites, minimizing rework for commissioned sites, and facilitating the accomplishment of expansion goals.

Key accountabilities

The Solar Commissioning Technician will oversee the final testing and verification of solar energy systems to ensure they meet performance and safety standards before being fully operational. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive system checks, identifying and resolving technical issues, and documenting all commissioning activities for compliance and future reference. Additionally, the role requires collaboration with installation teams to validate proper system integration and adherence to project specifications. Proficiency in solar system components, electrical testing procedures, and troubleshooting techniques is essential, along with familiarity with industry regulations and best practices. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are critical for success in this position.

  • Maintaining strict adherence to every stage of the commissioning process to achieve full compliance.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and tracking of assigned technical equipment, managing inventory levels, and coordinating the deployment of tools as required during the commissioning phase.

The Solar Commissioning Technician will:

  • Perform the setup and configuration of technical equipment at designated new sites.

  • Oversee the inventory and deployment of technical equipment to ensure seamless commissioning of designated sites.

  • Guarantee uninterrupted connectivity across all newly commissioned sites.

  • Test, diagnose, and resolve issues in defective products to ensure they meet the necessary standards for commissioning.Technical quality assurance

  • Ensure the site commissioning rework rate remains at or below 5% through the application of robust technical quality control measures.

  • Technical issues that could lead to rework must be identified and promptly brought to the attention of the appropriate team for resolution.

  • Ensure thorough completion and timely submission of quality assurance checklists for every site within the designated commissioning pipeline.Reporting and system management

  • Ensure new sites are configured correctly within the Star App, Dashboard, and Data verse.

  • Regularly update the Commissioning Tech Team Lead regarding the progress of commissioning activities to ensure clear communication and alignment with project timelines.

  • Track and present essential performance indicators, such as commissioned sites and rework rates, in detailed reports.

  • Oversee the maintenance and organization of all allocated technical equipment, tools, and inventory to ensure optimal functionality and availability.

  • Identify and document any discrepancies between current equipment availability and established commissioning targets.

  • Accurately log, address, update, and escalate technical issues to the appropriate stakeholders throughout the commissioning process.Required skills
