Safety Officer Construction Posted May 30, 2026 Duties & Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for guaranteeing full adherence to all health and safety regulations mandated by OSHA, ensuring the organization remains in full compliance with federal guidelines. Conduct thorough examinations to determine the root causes of incidents and hazardous situations at the workplace. Conducting health and safety training sessions and educational programs for all personnel on-site and site visitors is a key responsibility. Evaluating operational risks and potential hazards across all facets of the business to ensure safety and compliance. The role involves implementing measures to mitigate or avert activities that could lead to environmental harm, including air contamination, water degradation, and excessive noise levels.
- Perform routine safety observations to assess adherence to safety standards, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and the need for re-equipment, while also delivering safety coaching. Compiling weekly and monthly safety statistics for trend analysis and reporting purposes constitutes a key responsibility. Assisting in the establishment and execution of the construction site’s occupational health and safety management system to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and mitigate workplace hazards. Duties may include but are not limited to additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, ensuring all tasks align with organizational objectives and operational needs. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in either Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science and Management is essential, along with a valid Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction certification.
