Key Purpose

The primary responsibility of this position involves safely and efficiently loading, unloading, and stacking materials while ensuring compliance with Inventory/Materials Governance Controls and maintaining high Customer service standards to support Production operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Effective Fleet management

Ensure thorough pre-trip inspections of the forklift are completed before each shift commences, adhering to the provided inspection checklist. Operate, clean, and maintain the forklift to ensure it remains in optimal working condition at all times. Perform routine inspections, address any mechanical issues promptly, and adhere to all safety protocols to uphold operational efficiency and equipment longevity. Ensure fuel and fluids are maintained at acceptable operating levels. Professional adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards is essential, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational protocols. The Department of Labour’s stacking exemptions have been fully implemented and adhered to. Maintaining and adhering to 5S and site housekeeping standards is essential to this role. Personal protective equipment must be worn in accordance with established site safety protocols. Ensure strict compliance with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and General Operating Procedures (GOP’s).

Effective stock quality management

Ensuring adherence to warehouse stock age standards through the consistent application of First-Expired-First-Out (FEFO) rotation principles. Ensures quality control by verifying packaging integrity both on the warehouse floor and before loading operations commence. Effectively overseeing inventory management and implementing robust controls in strict accordance with established governance policies ensure alignment with organizational standards and regulatory requirements. Engage actively in the handover process both prior to and following each shift to ensure continuity of care and seamless transitions between shifts. Daily stock counts are conducted with precision each day utilizing handheld devices.

Generate variance reports and resolve discrepancies. Demonstrate exceptional communication skills by actively collaborating with Inventory and Warehouse teams, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to ensure seamless information exchange and alignment. Accurate inspection, loading, and unloading of vehicles are essential duties. A Load Summary is utilized to ensure the correct quantities of split and full pallets are loaded. Precise documentation of returns must be completed prior to the unloading process to ensure completeness and compliance.

Accurate stock movements on FG and empties from and onto the lines. Bin sign-off is mandatory to validate precise stock and inventory reconciliations. Proficiency in swiftly and effectively loading and unloading vehicles and production lines is essential. Maintain open and consistent communication with the Logistics team to ensure seamless coordination and alignment on all operational activities. Coordinator / team members. All documentation accurately and comprehensively completed. Ensure production continuity (where applicable).

Formation / Diplômes

Transfer empty containers and incoming materials onto production lines while maintaining maximum efficiency. Remove and transfer completed items from the production line to designated bins, ensuring uninterrupted workflow and maintaining peak line efficiency throughout the process. Experienced in understanding and applying pertinent business information, policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Computer literate. Stock Count Digital device literacy advantageous. Establishes and nurtures strong professional relationships through excellent interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration and trust among colleagues and stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure. Minimum Requirements

Valid forklift operator certification issued by an accredited training institution. A Well-recognized certificate or a comparable national diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering—or any other relevant technical qualification—is required. Valid forklift driver license. Experience operating a double handler.
