Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), the leading provider of housing and related services in Malawi, was established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02). Our core functions include constructing residential units, developing land parcels, and maintaining existing properties. We are currently seeking exceptional professionals to fill the following critical role.
Position: Maintenance Clerk
Location: Regional Offices (South and East)
Grade: HC 12
Reporting Structure: Maintenance Supervisor / Regional Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Compile and process reports submitted by tenants, initiating job cards to facilitate necessary Tradesman interventions. Verify job card balances and requisition required materials for various departmental units. Procure materials as requested by Tradesmen following their assessments. Generate monthly time sheets and overtime documentation for all temporary staff. Conduct physical inspections of completed maintenance work prior to final handover to supervisors or payment processing. Draft and format maintenance-related documents, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Organize and maintain systematic filing of section documents. Compile and submit regular progress reports as required.
Minimum Educational & Professional Requirements:
Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with a City and Guilds Grade 1 Certificate, or a diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
Relevant Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience in a maintenance-related role.

In-depth understanding of maintenance procedures and practices. Strong analytical abilities with effective problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication skills and sound decision-making aptitude. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while demonstrating self-motivation.
