Malawi Housing Corporation (MHC), a leading institution in Malawi’s housing sector, was established under the Malawi Housing Act of 1964 (Cap. 32:02) to deliver housing solutions and related services. Position: Maintenance Clerk Location: Regional Offices (South and East) Grade: HC 12 Reporting Line: Maintenance Supervisor / Regional Manager Key Responsibilities: Compile and process tenant reports, initiating job cards for required tradesman interventions. Balance job cards and procure materials for unit-specific maintenance tasks. Facilitate the procurement of materials as assessed and requested by tradesmen. Prepare monthly timesheets and overtime documentation for temporary staff. Conduct on-site inspections of completed tradesman work prior to supervisor approval or payment processing. Draft and format maintenance-related documentation and maintain organized filing systems. Generate and submit periodic reports as required. Minimum Qualifications & Professional Requirements: Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) along with a City and Guilds Grade 1 Certificate, or a diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline. Required Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience. Core Competencies & Skills: In-depth understanding of maintenance operations. Strong analytical and problem-resolution abilities. Excellent communication and decision-making capabilities. Proven ability to work collaboratively and independently.
