Expert Application Advice

What this role involves
You will bridge donor strategies with local implementation, managing multi-stakeholder partnerships across Ghana and Northern America. Day-to-day, expect to coordinate program cycles, track deliverables against funding agreements, and facilitate high-level meetings between government, NGOs, and private sector actors. This is a strategic coordination role, not a desk job—field visits and cross-cultural negotiation are routine.

Key skills to highlight
Show proven experience in bilateral or multilateral donor grant management, especially with results frameworks and compliance. Strong candidates demonstrate fluency in partnership brokering (MoUs, co-financing), budget oversight across currencies, and adaptive leadership in Ghana’s development landscape. Language skills (English plus local Ghanaian languages) and familiarity with USAID, EU, or similar systems are concrete assets.

Taf4All CV tip
Lead your CV with a “Partnership Impact” section—list 2-3 quantified examples of managing donor agreements or coordinating multi-country programs. Use terms like “grant lifecycle,” “stakeholder mapping,” and “compliance reporting” to mirror the role’s language. Avoid generic “project management” phrases; instead, say “negotiated $X partnership between Ghanaian NGOs and [agency].”

Before you apply
Verify the hiring agency directly via its official careers page or a known contact. Scammers may pose as bilateral agencies—never pay for application fees, visa processing, or “guaranteed interviews.” Cross-check the posting on trusted sites like DevelopmentAid or the agency’s own portal before sharing personal data.

  • Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
