AngloGold Ashanti Limited is recruiting a Superintendent, Mine Infrastructure & Services for its Obuasi site in Ghana. Permanent full-time position.
Job Context AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited, Obuasi Gold Mine, is completing its redevelopment phase to become a modern, efficient, and long-term profitable operation. The fully mechanized underground mining operation is designed to produce up to 5,000 t/day of ore.
Role Purpose The incumbent will lead and manage all mechanical maintenance, repair, and reliability functions to ensure the efficient and safe operation of critical systems in an underground mining environment. This role is essential for maintaining the availability and performance of all surface fans, both cooling plants (KMS and GCS), the fixed workshop for pump rebuilds, surface generators, test laboratory equipment and core shed, as well as overhead cranes and auxiliary equipment. It involves overseeing the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability, ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, and support production targets.
Key Responsibilities
Safety: Strictly enforce HSE regulations, promote proactive risk management through tools such as JHAs, audits, and inspections, and ensure operational safety excellence.
Environment: Ensure compliance with the Environmental Management Plan and EPA standards, oversee the team's environmental performance, and optimize energy consumption.
Personnel: Establish and maintain a high-performing maintenance team, clearly define roles and responsibilities, and foster talent development.
Required Profile
- Diploma / Degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in an underground mining environment
- Leadership, maintenance management, and HSE compliance skills
