Background The Institute of Finance Management (IFM) is a public higher learning institution established under Act No. 3 of 1972. The institution provides training, research, and consultancy services in banking, insurance, social protection, taxation, accountancy, and related disciplines. IFM is accredited by the National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) and operates six campuses located in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Dodoma, Simiyu, Geita, and Zanzibar. Duties and Responsibilities – Install wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists, and stud work. – Design and install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulation. – Install fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closures. – Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, doorframes, and ceilings. – Build and install cabinets, vanities, furniture, shelves, and other wooden fixtures. – Erect scaffolding, temporary structures, and support systems for construction projects. – Inspect existing structures and carry out repairs or maintenance on damaged or defective components. – Assess the quality of woodwork and materials to ensure they meet project standards. – Maintain a clean and safe working environment by removing debris and organising materials. – Instruct and direct labourers and construction assistants when required. – Document completed work and maintain accurate project records. – Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Required Qualifications Applicants must possess a Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) together with Trade Test II or Level II in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. Employment Details The position is on a one-year contractual basis, renewable.
