JOB VACANCY: QUANTITY SURVEYOR
Company: Sico Civils | Location: Head Office / Site | Type: Full-Time Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation & Management: Prepare accurate Bill of Quantities (BoQs), cost estimates, and tender documentation for upcoming civil and construction projects. Contract Administration: Manage subcontractor accounts, evaluate progress claims, and administer construction contracts to ensure cost control. Cost Control & Reporting: Monitor project expenditures against budgets, conducting variance analysis and preparing monthly financial reports for management. Tendering & Procurement: Assist in the evaluation of tenders, negotiate with suppliers and contractors, and procure materials cost-effectively. Risk & Dispute Management: Identify potential financial risks on projects and assist in negotiating variations and settling claims.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Professional registration with Board of Architects and Quantity Surveyors of Malawi.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven professional experience in quantity surveying within the civil engineering or construction sector.
Technical Skills: Proficient in industry-standard estimating software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Key Attributes: Highly analytical, meticulous attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, integrity, and the ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
