Since 1997, Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is committed to the fight against malnutrition in DRC. Building on its expertise in rapid response and emergency management of nutrition crises in the DRC’s most needy areas, ACF has successfully deployed large-scale projects addressing the nutrition crisis in Congo through the support of several local and international partners such as the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), Global Affairs Canada (GAC), the Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS), the Ministry of Public Health and Human Resources. République Democratic Congo, the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO) among others. Thanks to its partners, ACF operates in several cities and localities such as Mbuji-Mayi, Mweso, Bambo, Dodro, Mongbwalu, Lita but also operating offices in Goma, Bunia and Kinshasa. As part of its activities, ACF is looking for a (1) medical stock manager for its Base in Mbujimayi, East Kasai Province. Duration of the contract: 6 months (with possibility of renewal) Desired start date: November 2026

Location

Position open for relocation: Yes Purpose of the position In collaboration with logistics; ensure optimal and secure management of medical and nutritional stocks at Pharmacy-Base level, in accordance with ACF procedures. In coordination with the program team, oversee all activities related to the procurement, storage, reporting and rational use of medicines and medical inputs at the BCZ and health centres level. In coordination with the program team; strengthen the empowerment of the drug supply chain in health facilities.

Responsibilities

• 1: Maintain the physical integrity of an ACF stock Organization of the pharmacy space Physical integrity of the premises: secure openings, no water damage, no cracks in the roof or walls, no rodents, etc. Hygiene of the premises: regular cleaning of the floor and shelves, maintenance of the refrigerator, absence of food or sugary drinks, etc. Bi-daily control of temperature and humidity on working days Ensure that every effort is made to combat the deterioration factors of medical and nutritional products. Classification of products according to ACF recommended rules Ensure that the specific storage conditions of certain specific products (cold chain, narcotic-like products)
• 2: Ensure rigorous stock monitoring ACF Update all essential management tools; Record all stock movements on Stock Sheets and the stock tracking computer tool; Conduct inventories according to the ACF procedure and according to the pharmacy chronogram defined; Provide updated tools to the PR/RDD Nut/Santé to allow stock analysis (analysis of Average Monthly Consumption, risk of breakage (SFUMED, Stock Report etc.)); Support the PR Nut/Health in risk analysis (identification of risks of expiry, rupture etc.) and actions to be taken; Remove expired products from stock (physically and virtually) and list them; Quarantine and secure outdated and/or damaged products. Support if necessary the PR Nut/Health in the preparation of the Request for Stock Exit; Prepare deliveries on the basis of validated Stock Release Request; Complete the transfer tools (Order Form, Delivery Form etc.).
• 3: Supervise pharmacies in ACF-supported facilities Provide technical support to supervisors on good medical inventory management practices to be transmitted to the structures supported by ACF. Perform regular supervision of health centres to assess the management of medicines, medical and nutritional inputs. Train and supervise healthcare providers on good practices in storage, dispensing, traceability, pharmacovigilance, as well as on stock analysis (average monthly consumption, overstock, breakage, expiry). Monitor the dispensing and rational use of drugs in accordance with current therapeutic protocols.
• 4: Empowering the drug supply chain in ACF-supported structures Collaborate with BCZ, DPS, IPS and coordination for integrated and rational management of medical inputs in ACF-supported facilities, in accordance with MOUs. Support structures in the development and implementation of a drug supply plan. Check the conformity of deliveries as well as compliance with the procedures for receiving, storing and distributing medicines. Support structures in the prevention of breakages and overstocks by rigorous monitoring of inventories and stock movements
• 5: Ensure the archiving of tools and reporting of activities Archive all management tools Complete the Pharmacy Monthly Report and forward it to these hierarchical and functional superiors

Candidate profile

Education / Qualifications

Diploma / Level of study and experience: Diploma of Pharmacy (BAC)+5), license level, with experience in pharmacy or logistics specialized in medical stock management Be registered on the register of pharmacists in the DRC Skills and Qualifications Required/Knowledge be: Excellent knowledge of the national essential medicines supply policy,

Experience

Experience of more than 3 years as a pharmacy supervisor, project pharmacist or pharmacy manager in a medical NGOi, Good understanding of the functioning of the national medical supply chain, particularly at regional level (hospitals, health centres, etc.), Competences in the analysis of stock data: average consumption, risk of shortage, risk of lapse, risk of over-storage (use of DHIS2 and SIGL), Excellent knowledge of the Ministry of Health Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines, Good knowledge of care protocols (PCIME, PCIMAS...) and a prior humanitarian experience preferred, Team spirit – Capabilities for synthesis, analysis and writing – Adaptability Availability (mobility and flexibility) Control of the desired computer tools (especially Excel, Word and Power Point) Physically suitable for field trips in the area of intervention (70% of the time) Understanding in the mean
