Post: 01 Maintenance Planner Direction: Technical Department
Location
Job Type: Permanent Company: Société des Céréales du Cameroun (SCC) Slogan: Feeding the Nation, Our Ambition
Education / Qualifications
Degree required: Mechanical engineering design engineer degree or any similar degree.
Experience
Experience required: 01 year minimum. Âge: Between 22 - 45 years. Languages: French & English. Main mission of the post The Maintenance Planner’s mission is to plan, organize and coordinate all plant maintenance activities in order to optimize equipment availability and minimize unplanned downtime. This role transforms maintenance from a reactive function into a planned, data-driven discipline. To do this, it develops and maintains the preventive maintenance program, ensures the availability of spare parts before planned interventions and provides the technical manager with accurate data on performance and costs to facilitate decision making. This is a planning and coordination position; the success of the maintenance planner is measured by the quality of the preparation of upstream maintenance work, not the speed of response after failures occur. All activities must be carried out safely and in accordance with the maintenance systems and processes required by the QMS, in order to contribute to the achievement of CSC technical department objectives. Main activities Maintenance planning and programming: Develops, maintains and continuously improves the preventive maintenance (PM) program of all production equipment, utilities and plant auxiliary systems. Develops weekly and monthly maintenance schedule in coordination with production planning to minimize disruption of grinding operations. Develops detailed work plans for the planned work, specifying the scope, required skills, estimated duration, tools, spare parts and safety requirements before the work is assigned to technicians. Plans and coordinates technical shutdowns and major overhaul operations, ensuring that all materials, contractors and labor are secured in advance. Manages a continuous backlog of pending maintenance work, prioritized based on criticality and risk of equipment. Management of work orders and LES: Gathers all work requests from all departments and converts them into work orders. Creates, publishes, tracks and closes all maintenance work orders in the ERP system or its equivalent, ensuring complete and accurate records. Ensures that each work order is recorded with actual work hours, spare parts consumed and associated costs at the time of completion, not retrospectively at month end. Manages the registry of basic equipment data, including asset hierarchy, equipment numbering, technical specifications and maintenance history. Ensures that maintenance documentation, equipment manuals, schematics and standard operating procedures are up-to-date, accessible and properly managed by version control. Spare parts and materials planning: Ensures that maintenance planning meets food safety, quality and regulatory requirements, including HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000 and ANOR. Coordinates the planning of subcontractor interventions, access to sites and documentation for external technical work. Plans and orders spare parts and consumables for scheduled maintenance, ensuring materials are available prior to work planning. Manages the spare parts catalogue and contributes to criticality classification of stocks, ensuring that critical spare parts for high-risk equipment are always kept in the safety stock. Monitors spare parts consumption trends, sets and reviews replenishment levels, and reports to the technical manager on slow or obsolete stock rotation. Works with spare parts stores and procurement services to track delivery times, track orders in progress and report supply risks that may delay planned work. Performance reports and analyses: Tracks, analyzes and reports on key maintenance performance indicators including planned/unplanned work ratio, preventive maintenance compliance, schedule adherence, average time between failures (MTBF), average repair time (MTTR), cost per tonne, and equipment availability. Develops and maintains daily and weekly maintenance performance dashboards for the workshop and leadership evaluation. Provides the technical manager with daily visibility into maintenance costs, including expenses by equipment, type of work and budget. Contributes to root cause analysis by extracting and presenting equipment failure history and patterns of repeated failures. Coordination and Compliance: Provides primary coordination between the maintenance team, production, stores, procurement and external contractors for all planned work. Ensures that all planned work incorporates the required security controls, including lock/labelling, work permits and risk assessments.

Expert Application Advice

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
