EFA Cameroon recruits two Field Agents for IFSTRP Phase 2 project
Education For Advancement Cameroon (EFA Cameroon) is launching an external recruitment notice for two Field Agents positions. One of the officers will be assigned to Ziling and the other to Mbardam, in Mayo Tsanaga, Far North region of Cameroon.
Presentation of the organization and project
EFA Cameroon is a Cameroonian national NGO active since 2014 in community development and humanitarian action. Its mandate covers food security, livelihoods, WASH, nutrition, community health, cash transfers and economic empowerment of vulnerable populations.
With funding from the Conrad N. Hilton, EFA Cameroon is implementing the Improving Food Security Through Resilience Project (IFSTRP), which aims to strengthen the food and economic resilience of vulnerable households. Phase 1, conducted from August 2025 to July 2026 in Ouro Tada and Woudahi in the municipality of Mokolo, supported 600 households in the creation of labour-intensive community assets (HIMO), set up two Village Savings and Credit Associations (AVEC) and finance Income Generating Activities (AGR).
Phase 2 extends the project to two new localities, Ziling and Mbardam, at the request of their traditional chiefdoms. It provides for the complete creation of community assets, the establishment of a BSL and the first round of AGR funding, based on the proven Phase 1 model. To ensure this presence of proximity, EFA Cameroon recruits two Field Agents, one agent per locality.
Job purpose
The Field Officer ensures, in his locality of assignment, the community mobilization, the follow-up of the work of creation of the assets, the establishment of the AVEC, the support of the beneficiaries of the AGR and the regular feedback. He practises in accordance with EFA Cameroon procedures, Hilton Foundation requirements and safety instructions.
Key responsibilities
Identification and targeting of beneficiaries: the officer supports the mission of identifying and validating beneficiary households in the locality, with an indicative target of 300 households, according to the vulnerability criteria and methodology of the project. It records households, maintains a list of beneficiaries and explains the selection criteria and expected commitments to communities.
Community mobilization and creation of assets: it mobilizes the community and organizes the local workforce, i.e. about 3 hours of work per day according to the HIMO approach, as well as the free supply of local materials (sand, rubble, water). It follows and supervises, with the Area Manager and technicians, the realization of the planned assets (solar power drilling, rural track, community store, beef) and reports on progress and difficulties. It also ensures that the community respects its commitments, including the provision and rehabilitation of a space for the village bank.
Implementation of the AVEC and support for AGR: the agent supports the implementation, legalization and banking of the local AVEC, in conjunction with project partners and administrative authorities. It supports the constitution and formation of the management committee of the village bank, the capitalization of the AVEC and the maintenance of registers and meetings. It supports the identification of beneficiaries, the development of business plans and the monitoring of the activities of the first round of AGR funding, as well as the organization of professional training.
Community relay supervision: it supervises the two community relays of the locality, which ensure the daily presence and feedback between the beneficiary households and the field agent. It facilitates meetings with households, traditional chiefdoms, women and young people, and promotes social cohesion.
Monitoring, reporting and accountability: it collects monitoring data with validated tools and transmits them on time to the Area Manager and the MEAL manager. He writes weekly and monthly reports on the activities of the locality. It collects and tracks feedback, suggestions and complaints from beneficiaries according to the project’s accountability mechanism.
Security, backup and coordination: it strictly applies the security protocols of EFA Cameroon, remains in regular

- •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
- •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
- •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
- •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
- •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
- •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
