Overall objective of the position
The partnership manager will be responsible for managing several local partners of the INTERSOS Chad mission. He/She will be responsible for setting up a strategic framework and systems to strengthen the localization approach and working mechanisms of the INTERSOS partnership with local NGOs implementing INTERSOS projects in Chad.
Working closely with the Liaison Officer, Program Department, MEAL colleagues and Finance to engage and support partners, the Partnership Lead will play a leading role in strengthening INTERSOS’ partnership approaches, building on INTERSOS’ localization strategy and partnership principles.
The Partnership Manager will map and identify new partnership opportunities, assess partner capacities, support the development of joint action plans and tailored tools, facilitate and provide relevant capacity building support, ensure ongoing support to the partner organization throughout programme implementation, and document best practices and lessons learned.

Partnership strategy and representation:
Review, upgrade and lead the implementation of INTERSOS’ partnership strategy in Chad.
Lead the mission in developing systematic approaches to partner selection, as well as identifying and implementing strategic partnerships. Conduct the initial risk and capacity assessment of partners with relevant departments.
Participate in all working groups related to partnership/location or useful for identifying new partners.
Implementation, reporting and quality control:
Work with all INTERSOS departments to develop systems and policies that support the partnership strategy and ensure periodic review once they are in place.
Assist in ensuring the participation of partners in strategic planning, program design and the development of proposals and concept documents.
Work with the INTERSOS SMT team to ensure that partnership tools and financial standards meet donor requirements.
Work with finance teams to ensure timely payment of partner disbursements, review of partner reports and closing of partner sub-grants.
Develop, in direct collaboration with the INTERSOS MEAL Manager, the management and monitoring systems for partner programming.
Define a standard framework of roles and responsibilities between the different departments of INTERSOS and with partners for effective communication and engagement.
Organize monthly partner review meetings with representatives of relevant INTERSOS partners and operations and program staff to discuss progress, roles, responsibilities, expectations, communication between organizations, any policy conflicts, any concerns and future planning.
Establish and maintain a partnership database that maps the capacity, influence and strategic alignment of partners.
