Business Development Coordinator

Reports to the Country Director, with a functional/technical reporting line to the Director of Institutional Funding (Global). Contract type: Fixed Term (2 years).

About CBM Global

CBM Global works alongside people with disabilities in low- and middle-income countries to fight poverty and exclusion and transform lives. Drawing on over 100 years of experience and driven by Christian values, we work with the most marginalised in society to break the cycle of poverty and disability, treat and prevent conditions that lead to disability, and build inclusive communities where everyone can enjoy their human rights and achieve their full potential. We work in over 20 countries, investing in long-term, authentic partnerships with the Disability Movement and multiplying our impact by delivering a combination of inclusive community-based programmes, advocacy for national and global policy change and inclusion advice to other organisations. CBM Global is a worldwide federation with the following Members: CBM Australia, CBM Ireland, CBM Kenya, CBM New Zealand, CBM Switzerland, and CBM UK.

About the Role

The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) leads and coordinates institutional funding and business development activities at country level, supporting the Bangladesh Country Team to strengthen its donor engagement, funding pipeline and proposal development. The role works closely with CBM Global’s federation-wide Institutional Funding function, Member Teams, Technical Teams, partners and OPDs to identify and secure funding opportunities aligned with the Country Strategy Plan and CBM Global’s priorities. Overall, the BDC will contribute to increasing and diversifying the Bangladesh country portfolio and supporting sustainable growth in institutional income.

This will be your team: The Country Team that you will be joining has 18 employees. You will report to the Country Director, with a functional/technical reporting line to the Director of Institutional Funding (Global). You will have no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate country-level institutional business development and resource mobilisation in alignment with the Bangladesh Country Strategy and CBM Global’s institutional funding priorities. Develop and manage the institutional funding pipeline, including opportunity identification, prioritisation, Go/No-Go decisions and submission readiness. Lead donor intelligence, mapping, positioning and engagement, building strategic relationships with institutional donors, foundations, multilaterals and other funding stakeholders. Represent CBM Global in relevant donor coordination platforms, networks and consortium discussions to strengthen organisational positioning and access to funding opportunities. Lead and coordinate the development of concept notes, proposals and funding applications, ensuring quality, competitiveness, donor compliance and alignment with CBM Global’s value proposition. Facilitate consortium development and strategic partnerships with INGOs, local NGOs, OPDs, UN agencies, research institutions and other relevant stakeholders. Strengthen cross-functional coordination among programme, finance, MEL, technical, communications, advocacy, advisory and member teams to support successful business development. Lead country-level business development planning, pipeline reviews and performance analysis, working closely with the Country Director and Global Institutional Funding Team. Strengthen fundraising capacity, systems and knowledge management, including partner and OPD fundraising capacity, use of digital/AI-enabled tools, and sharing of learning across the federation. Ensure all business development and funding activities uphold safeguarding, inclusion, ethical standards and CBM Global’s partnership-based and power-aware approach.

Prospecting and results — Your new clients acquired and conversion rate are your strongest arguments. Show your detailed knowledge of local distributors and key players.

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
