Impact Strategy and Growth Director

Water for Good is seeking a Director of Impact to oversee and guide our organization's strategic initiatives aimed at maximizing positive outcomes. In this role, you will spearhead efforts to measure, analyze, and enhance our social and environmental impact while ensuring alignment with our mission and goals. Key responsibilities include developing impact frameworks, leading data-driven evaluations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate impact considerations into all operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in impact assessment, program management, and leadership, with a proven ability to drive measurable results. Additionally, you will engage stakeholders, secure funding, and advocate for impact-driven practices both internally and externally. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and a degree in a related field are required.

Water for Good also seeks a motivated individual to fill the role of Country Director in the Central African Republic (CAR), based in Bangui. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in international development, preferably with a focus on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives. Fluency in English and French is essential, along with a strong background in program management, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning. Responsibilities include overseeing program implementation, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, and cultivating partnerships with local and international organizations. The position offers the opportunity to lead impactful initiatives that transform communities by improving access to clean water and sanitation.

Kampala, Uganda, or Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, are the designated locations for this position. We are seeking a skilled Professional Services expert to deliver exceptional client solutions and drive project success. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven track record of managing complex engagements. Responsibilities include consulting with clients to assess needs, designing tailored solutions, implementing systems, and providing ongoing support to ensure optimal performance. Requirements encompass a minimum of five years in professional services, relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP), and proficiency in industry-standard tools. Position Summary: The Director of Impact is responsible for ensuring the successful execution, high standards, and quantifiable outcomes of Technical Assistance projects, leveraging monitoring, evaluation, and learning data to assess project effectiveness. Additionally, this role establishes the frameworks, protocols, and empirical foundation necessary to expand Technical Assistance initiatives. The position oversees the Technical Assistance Country Program Managers, while also guaranteeing meticulous documentation of results to strengthen the organization's knowledge base, sector reputation, and donor-facing communications—critical components for scaling Technical Assistance and advancing Water for Good's Vision of a Healthy Village.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of responsibilities essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Provide leadership in managing key projects, fostering collaboration across departments, and maintaining high operational standards. Address daily challenges through strategic problem-solving and data-driven decision-making to optimize efficiency and productivity. Actively contribute to team development by mentoring staff, identifying skill gaps, and implementing targeted training initiatives. Uphold compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and ethical standards to safeguard organizational integrity and reputation. Address complex, cross-border challenges and make critical trade-off decisions that individual country leads are unable to resolve independently.

We oversee the execution and performance of technical assistance initiatives, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery. This encompasses comprehensive management of projects from inception to completion, with a sharp focus on meeting predefined objectives and measurable outcomes. Key responsibilities include monitoring progress, identifying potential risks, and implementing corrective measures to maintain efficiency and effectiveness. Additionally, we conduct thorough evaluations to assess project impact and generate data-driven insights for continuous improvement. Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.

Oversight of all Technical Assistance initiatives, ensuring full alignment with grant agreement deliverables. Establish uniform delivery standards, critical review milestones, and recurring evaluation schedules across the entire TA portfolio. Conduct consistent portfolio assessments to monitor advancement, identify potential risks, evaluate budget performance, and assess partner satisfaction levels.

Cultivate and sustain strong partnerships with implementing partner organizations, national government agencies, and WASH networks. Additionally, develop and maintain a centralized risk register while actively advancing mitigation efforts to ensure their resolution. Develop scalable tools, templates, and playbooks that systematically accelerate the launch of each new TA engagement, ensuring continuous improvement in efficiency and speed.

Serve as the TA portfolio's representative in international program and leadership forums. We oversee data management, knowledge systems, and the monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators to ensure organizational efficiency and informed decision-making. Deliver precise, timely reports to donors, the Senior Leadership Team, and the Board as mandated, ensuring dashboards and reporting mechanisms remain current.

Ensuring adherence to rigorous standards, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and embedding eco-conscious practices are integral to our operations. Additionally, we prioritize the cultivation of a dynamic learning environment to enhance employee capabilities and drive long-term growth.

Oversees the organization and maintenance of data and knowledge systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility. Additionally, tracks and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate progress and generates detailed reports to inform decision-making. Set and implement rigorous technical quality benchmarks to ensure the delivery of TA services. Develop and maintain robust quality assurance protocols, encompassing design evaluation, on-site validation, and systematic corrective action implementation. Conduct structured learning reviews and integrate key insights into Water for Good's global practice and strategic planning initiatives.

Technical assistance, capacity enhancement, and business growth development are core responsibilities of this role. The position requires expertise in delivering specialized support, fostering organizational capabilities, and expanding commercial opportunities. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization to drive sustainable impact.
