Responsabilités

The Bilingual Assessor role is designed to deliver high-quality language assessments in both English and French while ensuring precision and efficiency throughout the evaluation process. This position guides candidates through their assessment experience, maintains meticulous records, and enhances language assessment services by providing detailed reports and actionable recommendations for continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments in both languages, utilizing advanced digital platforms to ensure reliability and efficiency. The role involves developing and sharing tailored preparation materials to help candidates perform at their best, as well as generating comprehensive performance reports that offer clear insights into their results. Additionally, the position requires maintaining accurate documentation, submitting detailed reports to the Language Assessment management team, and administering pre- and post-assessments for candidates in the Bridge program to track progress. The Assessor also addresses candidate questions regarding assessments and outcomes, providing clear explanations and support, while evaluating assessment quality and candidate experience to recommend improvements to the Language Assessment Manager. Other duties may include supporting ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Language Assessment Manager to contribute to the overall success of the assessment process. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Education, or a related field, along with 2–3 years of professional experience in language assessment, teaching, education, testing, or a related discipline. Experience in administering assessments, preparing detailed reports, using digital assessment tools, and maintaining precise records is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills in both English and French (written and spoken), exceptional analytical and report-writing abilities, and proficiency with digital assessment platforms and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace. Additional assets include prior experience with language assessments or standardized tests, work in education or language training environments, and familiarity with language proficiency frameworks such as the CEFR. Desired competencies include resilience in achieving results, a commitment to continuous learning, the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences, a customer-focused approach, persuasive interpersonal skills, and strong time management to meet deadlines efficiently. Applications from Rwandan youth, refugees, and individuals living with disabilities are strongly encouraged.

  • •Never pay any amount of money — for a file, a training, a uniform, or an interview. A real employer never asks the candidate to pay.
  • •Never send a photo of your ID card, passport, or banking details before you have physically verified the employer exists.
  • •Always meet in a public place, during the day — never an isolated address, a private home, or a location you cannot verify in advance.
  • •Tell a relative or friend exactly where you are going, with whom, and at what time — and share your live location if possible.
  • •Search the company name online before going: a real business has a trace (website, reviews, other employees, an official address).
  • •A salary that is far above the market rate for the position and the city is a red flag — be extra cautious.
