HR Associate
Britam Insurance Tanzania Limited is looking for a dedicated HR Associate to support our Human Resource Manager in delivering exceptional employee services. This role is based in Dar es Salaam, United Republic of Tanzania, and is a full-time contractual position.
Job Purpose
The incumbent will support the Human Resource Manager in delivering exceptional employee services by overseeing and coordinating key HR functions, including recruitment and retention strategies, talent and performance management, employee relations initiatives, payroll processing, learning and development programs, and the maintenance of staff records. This position will directly report to the Human Resource Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Foster initiatives designed to strengthen positive working relationships, including staff meetings, social gatherings, and other collaborative activities. Maintain the accuracy and currency of employee records at all times. In accordance with established company human resource policies and procedures, execute the initiatives outlined in the annual action plan. Collaborating with the HR Manager, you will contribute insights regarding departmental staffing needs. Support the HR Manager in revising and maintaining job descriptions to ensure alignment with current HR policies and procedures. Gather training needs data from individual appraisals and relevant evaluation information to help shape and oversee learning and development initiatives. Collaborating with the HR Manager, you will organize and oversee the implementation of the staff training and development schedule. Facilitate the end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes, encompassing tasks such as obtaining necessary approvals, publishing job advertisements, conducting preliminary screenings and interviews, managing candidate files, and organizing induction sessions. Guarantee complete precision and promptness when entering data into all HR systems and files to maintain their integrity and reliability. Providing employees with expert counsel and direction regarding the interpretation and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Collaborate proactively to advance the organization’s cultural transformation initiatives. Working collaboratively with the HR Manager and the group payroll office, oversee the monthly payroll operations and maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring the timely submission of statutory reports to the appropriate regulatory bodies.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field. 2. Diploma in Human Resource Management. With a minimum of two to four years of practical experience in human resources management, preferably in a generalist capacity, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in core HR functions.
