Below are the details for the position of Branch Accountant: Job Title: Branch Accountant Job Grade: MS4 Location: Blantyre Reports to: Branch Manager (MS3) Supervises: Assistant Accountant (MS6) Number of Positions: One (1) Job Purpose: To oversee all accounting functions at the branch level, ensuring robust financial and inventory management systems are in place and fully operational. Key Responsibilities: – Ensuring the accessibility and correct utilization of warehouse accounting records, including stock cards. – Reporting warehouse accounting issues to the Branch Manager. – Organizing and coordinating training initiatives for branch accounting staff. – Facilitating inventory management in alignment with established stock control protocols. – Preparing branch financial statements in compliance with accounting and statutory regulations. – Assisting in cash flow forecasting and management. – Supporting the preparation of budgets and enforcing budgetary controls. – Upholding adherence to established organizational policies and procedures. – Overseeing the performance and work of branch accounts staff. – Maintaining accurate stock records and monitoring warehouse stock ledgers.
