To strengthen its operations in Mzuzu, Lilongwe, and Blantyre, CMST invites applications from dynamic and forward-thinking professionals for the following position: Pharmacist-in-Charge Grade: MS4 Location: Lilongwe Reporting to: Branch Manager (MS3) Supervising: Pharmacist (MS5) Vacancy: One (1) Position Purpose This role entails providing strategic leadership for all pharmaceutical warehouse operations, encompassing inbound and outbound logistics, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory and operational standards. Key Responsibilities – Overseeing warehouse operations to comply with the Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority Act, relevant regulations, and best practices in warehousing and distribution. – Supervising warehouse activities to enhance efficiency and productivity. – Ensuring real-time accuracy of inventory transactions within the ERP system. – Maintaining secure and organized documentation for receipts, orders, and shipments. – Managing third-party logistics partners to optimize last-mile distribution and cost-effectiveness. – Collaborating with the Finance Department to guarantee precise customer billing. – Advising leadership on stock levels and movement patterns to inform decision-making. – Ensuring the upkeep, optimization, and safety of warehouse infrastructure, equipment, and handling procedures. – Developing, enforcing, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for warehouse functions. – Identifying staff training needs and implementing targeted capacity-building initiatives. – Preparing operational work plans and budgets while overseeing the performance of subordinate staff. Qualifications and Experience – A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution. – Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent qualification. – Valid registration with the Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA). – Postgraduate qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field are advantageous. Required Skills and Competencies – Minimum of five years of progressive experience in a high-volume pharmaceutical warehouse environment. – Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). – Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. – Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. – Strong interpersonal and analytical capabilities.
