Archivist Intern We seek individuals eager to contribute to our team while acquiring practical expertise in the management of professional records and archives. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will provide assistance to the Records Management team, fulfilling the following duties: Assisting with the organization, categorization, indexing, and maintenance of both physical and electronic records within the archival system. Responsible for systematically arranging, safeguarding, and retrieving client records while ensuring strict adherence to established records management policies and protocols. Supporting digitization initiatives by executing scanning, indexing, quality assurance, and electronic records management tasks. Archival records are organized, maintained, and processed in accordance with established retention schedules to ensure proper storage, retention, transfer, or secure disposal. Safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and security of client information and company records remains a critical responsibility. Facilitating the execution of records retention and disposal policies is a key responsibility. Handling client requests for document retrieval and records tracking is a key responsibility. Overseeing the integrity and precision of record databases and inventory systems is essential. This includes ensuring that all data is current, correctly entered, and meticulously maintained to support operational efficiency and compliance. Engaging in ongoing improvement efforts to optimize records management procedures is a key responsibility. Assisting the Records Manager with any additional tasks as required constitutes a key responsibility of this position. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 School Certificate A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Library and Information Science, Records and Archives Management, Information Management, Information Science, or a closely related field is required. Professionals who have recently completed their academic studies are strongly encouraged to submit their applications. Knowledge & Skills The successful applicant must exhibit: Proficiency in fundamental records and archives management principles is required. A thorough grasp of records lifecycle management and document control principles is essential. Proficiency in electronic document management systems (EDS) is considered a valuable asset.
