Archivist Intern Join our team to acquire practical experience in the management of professional records and archives. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will provide assistance to the Records Management team, fulfilling the following duties: You will support the organization, classification, indexing, cataloguing, and archiving of both physical and electronic records. Responsible for systematically organizing, filing, retrieving, and maintaining client records in strict compliance with established records management standards and procedures. Facilitating document digitization initiatives by performing scanning operations, organizing indexed data, conducting thorough quality assurance checks, and maintaining electronic records in accordance with established protocols. Archival records are organized, inventoried, and prepared for storage, retention, transfer, or secure disposal in strict adherence to established retention schedules and compliance standards. The role is responsible for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and security of client information and company records. Providing support for the establishment and execution of records retention and disposal protocols. Assisting clients with document retrieval and records tracking requests. Maintaining precise records in databases and inventory systems is essential to ensure operational efficiency and data integrity. This role involves the meticulous organization, updating, and verification of information to support decision-making and compliance with organizational standards. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in database management tools are critical for performing these responsibilities effectively. Engaging actively in ongoing enhancement efforts to optimize records management procedures. Assisting the Records Manager with additional tasks and responsibilities as deemed necessary. Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 School Certificate A Bachelor’s or Diploma in Library and Information Science, Records and Archives Management, Information Management, Information Science, or a closely related field is required. Qualified recent graduates are welcome to submit their applications for consideration. Knowledge & Skills The preferred applicant must exhibit the following qualifications and attributes: Proficient understanding of records and archives management principles is required. Proficiency in the management of records throughout their lifecycle and adherence to document control protocols. Proficiency in electronic document management systems (EDS) is considered beneficial.
