The role requires conducting thorough inspections to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations at Simba Cement, identifying potential hazards, and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks and enhance operational safety standards. Position Areas of responsibility — Reports to SHE Manager Specific knowledge Due date 7/31/2026 12:00 AM Main duties Deliver proactive and high-impact support in administering the company’s Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) programs, practices, policies, and standards to ensure alignment with and achievement of organizational SHE objectives.
- Implementing NOSA and ISO systems. Ensure adherence to rigorous housekeeping standards by maintaining a consistent daily presence on-site at the facility. Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental (SHE) principles by embodying best practices and actively mentoring others through dedicated training initiatives.
- Conduct daily inspections within the plant.
- Attend monthly departmental SHE meetings.
- Compile daily inspection reports; gather and analyze data to produce monthly reports; oversee the compilation of SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) reports; and promptly report any unsafe acts or conditions. Ensure the consistent implementation of daily Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) topics across your designated responsibilities.
- Monitor, document, and follow up on SHE non-conformances, ensuring accurate reporting and corrective action. Daily review and validation of work permits are conducted to confirm strict compliance with established procedures. Assist in ensuring adherence to all relevant legislation within the country and monitor for any regulatory updates. Conduct thorough evaluations of the company’s facilities and programs to assess their operational efficiency and adherence to SHE regulations and standards. Assist in conducting SHE investigations and contribute to the development of recommendations.
- Engage proactively in the organization and implementation of emergency evacuation drills.
- Maintain adherence to OSHA regulations in alignment with organizational and legal obligations.
Observe relevant environmental policies and regulations. Adherence to the HM Group Code of Business Conduct, compliance policies, and established guidelines is required. Additionally, the incumbent may be tasked with assuming other responsibilities as deemed appropriate by the supervisor. Minimum requirements (Qualifications) A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment; Occupational Health and Safety; Disaster and Safety Management; Industrial Safety and Risk Management; Process Safety Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial); or any closely related discipline is required.
Expérience
- Certification in NEBOSH/SAMTRAC/NOSHC/NOSA or its equivalent. Professionals must demonstrate proficiency in the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and general Environmental Management Systems (EMS) standards. Proficient in utilizing the NOSA system and other safety management frameworks is required. Requires a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices. Possesses a solid grasp of OSHA regulations and environmental legislative mandates.
- Demonstrates proficiency in organizing and overseeing internal audits, conducting thorough site inspections, and facilitating effective induction programs.
- Comprehensive understanding of work permits, risk assessment methodologies, and Job Hazard Analysis (JMA) is essential. Demonstrates the capacity to develop and implement comprehensive safety training initiatives.
